Its 10 feet 2 inches tall

Heres a few pics from TDK Maual Blueprints :wave

Thanks a lot for those.
I asked when that book came out if there was any good referemce for The Bat. And a member here said "nothing much"...
It's ordered from Amazon. And many thanks for the heads up.
It actually looks like i was going to be making mine too big!!!!

holy cow, that scratch build is going to be epic!

Thanks. I will probably just post a thread when it's done. I expect the main frame to come together in a few days.

Great, I hope you'll be making a WIP thread for it, would love to see it being made.

Gonna be a hell of a project though, can't imagine how you will put everything together

It's actually an incredibly easy shape when you have an eye for scratchbuilding. The hardest thing will be getting the consoles and engines lit up. I'll likely have to order a custom harness for the lighting system. My most recent scratchbuild was a Warhammer Arvus Lighter for a gentleman from the USA who wanted interior lights(Dashboard lit up AND the rear bay), engines lit up, and a full set of strobes like an aircraft should have. See a youtube video below(The ENTIRE thing was scratchbuilt from styrene, in case anyone thinks i can't handle something as simple as The Bat, lol)

Can't wait to see this come together :panic::panic::panic:

Thanks. I will post the occasional progress pic here if no-one minds me filling the gap between the movie and Hot Toys releasing theirs.

If he makes it fly, I will :thud: :thud: :thud: :thud:

Hahaha. The first one will be hanging from my ceiling next to my desk, above my detolf.

crazy I guess I just have to pray HT makes theirs to be able to own one... at least I figured out how to display it
IKEA GRANAS DINING TABLE LOL

It's the dining table version from that series. Mich wider, longer and most importantly higher so it will easily fit the bat I am sure. Besides there is plenty of extra room for the tumbler in the coffee table as well

Give me a week or so.
I am having the Dark Knight Manual Bat Plans scaled up.
Then i will start building mine.
I will post ppics so we can all know how big this monster is.

Holly shiet:

The Tumbler:
L 15' 2" = 182" ~ 30" (1/6 Scale)
W 9' 2" = 108" ~ 18"
H 4' 11" = 59" ~ 10"
Source

The Bat:
L 28' = 336" ~ 56"
W 17' = 208" ~ 35"
H ??
source

Granas Coffee table:
L 47" x W 31" x H 20"

Granas dining Table:
L 57 1/2", W 30 3/4", H 29 1/2"

Dang width but should still work since I would never display it leveled but rather in an angle like the MR MF to give it more of a realistic feel than just a static model

But who are we kidding if HT don't make it I will never own it :(

I am sure you will be sick and tired of it after making your own :( Besides shipping this monster to arrive in one piece is going to be almost as big of a challenge. Even the "simple" MR MF which was effectively just a disk needed a strong underlying frame to guarantee it stays together during shipping. This one by design is almost like a skeleton so unless .... holly you are in Scotland yeah I gotto get my own pilot license before I come and pick it up LOL hmm :(

Lol. The first one i am making will be to make the templates to make more.
I won't be making hundreds of them. But i will make a few.
It won't be too heavy, but would have to ship via a freight shipper simply because of the size.
But i will make one and see what everyone thinks of it.

Hmm if you ship it in a transparent crate maybe the shipper will be more careful but then I am sure it will also disappear very quickly too but certainly excited to see your work
You have any links to your previous work? This can't be your first project that just be insane

Looking forward to seeing Username's Bat come together. If your other work is any indication, this thing will rock.

Thanks a lot. This will be my biggest project. But it looks easy enough. I have my styrene reserves up to strength. I am just waiting for the blown up 1/6 scale plans to be delivered.

Lol. Won't be my first project. I usually master model kits.
It will be a walk in the park.
Here are some links to galleries on photobucket of things i have made in the recent past:

How sturdy is that styrene stuff? Or are you using varying thicknesses? I'm just wondering how sturdy overall a styrene scratch built model is.

As we say in Spain...What hands you have!!!! :clap

Take my money and give me a Bat!!!!!!

(yes, I'm serious, I want it)

Nice work!
Man I wish I had time to even build model kits. I still have so many stored away for when I have time and I still would have to build a few cheapo ones to pick up some skills.. scratchbuild.... thats just insane LOL
