The main problem with "compelling storytelling" (IMO anyways) is that it is harder to come up with and maintain a compelling story as opposed to flashing some bright colors and fancy explosions on the screen. Also, todays ADD generation has so much thrown at them, that's it also harder to hold on to that audience through story versus a short fancy graphic simple story. Just my 2 cents.

You pretty much nailed it. Everyone wants instant gratification these days. Shows that debuted 20 years ago and became popular probably wouldn't make it through half a season these days. Not many shows are given a chance to develop and gain an audience anymore. I blame it on all of the "reality" bull **** that's shoved down our throats.

Anyone heard about the rumour that Max von Sydow will be voicing a younger version of his Episode VII character?

I want to be excited but I'm still not convinced I'm being sold anything more than Clone Wars with new sound effects.

Looks good to me. Opinion hasn't changed much. Still think the characters will have more depth and look more interesting than the CW characters.

^I don't really feel intrigued about any of the characters. But I'll definitely give this show a chance because Clone Wars didn't necessarily look too good from it's first initial teasers either.

That's where I'm coming from too.
I wasn't fond of CW marketing campaign but eventually gave it a chance and found surprisingly enjoyable.

zero interest in this, based on what I've seen so far. thats a first with me and Star Wars. I even own a copy of Caravan of Courage.
:lol

Agreed, I joined in the CW series way too late just because the style of CGI didn't appeal to me. Definitely going to start with this one. Plus, I think the art looks great, much like a lot of season 5 and some of season 6. Something happened that made the characters look better, upgraded something or redid some of the models.
