Fixed, & you're welcome. :wave :moon
I think my point was crystal clear.

Hating on something just for not having been in the original trilogy is as ridiculous as it gets.

Darth Maul (tattooed bald guy) is liked by most everyone. Asajj Ventress (bald, pale skin) is a very well known EU fan-favorite. So, technically, bashing them for whatever reason (being part of the prequel trilogy) would be going against the crowd and would make you the hipster.

I foresee a lot of irrational hate from the OT purists directed at every upcoming Disney Star Wars project regardless of the quality. Can't use the fact that the prequel trilogy was subpar as your excuse for not accepting anything outside of the OT anymore. :lol

Which is fine, you know. Nothing wrong with differing opinions. You can like what you want. But if you're going to start trash-talking things, you should have a valid reason for doing so. Otherwise you just look like a ****.

We know almost nothing about this Inquisitor guy other than his physical appearance, which is very by the numbers Sith/Empire attire, and his species - one of the more menacing and less goofy races from the PT. It's silly to immediately write him off as a "hipster nasty".

I think this is the best series fans could hope for. Its set between the trilogies so we get the cool Imperial designs and familiar OT stuff, without treading on the OT. Just imagine the brain explosions if they had decided to do something with the OT like Clone Wars did with the PT and insert back story into the OT? I'm really looking forward to this and I think its going to be hard to judge what you see until its all finalized for screen. Some may not be fans of this type of art, but at least they have shown they are advancing it. You watch a season 1 Clone Wars episode back to back with one of the last episodes and its a pretty distinct improvement in art quality.

I remember watching the first handful of episodes of Clone Wars and the animation appeared awkward and some of the scenes were very kid-friendly. Having just watched the series again, those first episodes compared with how dark, gritty and violent the last 3-4 episodes were shows the steps they had taken to not alienate their core audience.

I will give Rebels a chance, I think it has loads of potential. One thing I don't think they should be doing is showing all this rough animation. Nothing is polished and when they show that rough animation, a lot of people forget how many more stages it has to progress through before being production-ready. I am looking forward to it.

Why can't people allow other people enjoy things? In this forum especially, why must someone be attacked because they like a cartoon or a tv show? Aren't we all adults here? If you like it, watch it. If you don't like it, don't watch it.

Makes me smack my head against the wall reading comments attacking someone for looking forward to a cartoon. I though we were all above this.

I for one am looking forward to the show. Hoping it's an opening to the SW universe for my 19 month old daughter.

I don't understand getting mad and angry and upset about a cartoon.

If we all respected each others opinions imagine how boring the world would be. Nicer, yes. But very boring.

Thats weird. I read what you're quoting, but I don't see a source for it. Was there some thread editing going on? :lol

I'm confused. :dunno Did I need to indicate that I was quoting myself and it came from me as the source?

I guess so, on my screen it said you were quoting VASith, but I didn't see an original post from him. Maybe its a glitch, but what I see is you quoting him. Generally you only see that if theres been posts deleted, but, now that you say you were quoting yourself and not him, thats just odd.

we all love Star Wars and are very protective of it… perhaps especially now that George isn’t at the helm (good or bad, it was his creation and his right to explore it). sassy pink armored Mando spray painting 20 somethings are a new pill to swallow…

if Disney wants to appeal to everyone, why not take a cue from the original trilogy? why fall in line with the obvious? compelling storytelling is universal.

The main problem with "compelling storytelling" (IMO anyways) is that it is harder to come up with and maintain a compelling story as opposed to flashing some bright colors and fancy explosions on the screen. Also, todays ADD generation has so much thrown at them, that's it also harder to hold on to that audience through story versus a short fancy graphic simple story. Just my 2 cents.

Feel better cupcake? :lol

Ok, a few things..

Firstly, right off the bat - go easy on the assumptions. Hating? Bashing? OT purist? Where are you getting all this from - my little cheeky dig at the bald guy? Come on man.. that's some serious reaching.

I'm a fan of / don't mind, a lot of what exists now - except the Gungan business, some of the EU, & the 2008 CW film. Hate is one of those words that gets overused constantly - there's not much that I 'hate' per se..

Perhaps I used the word 'hipster' a little too liberally, & a touch out of context - I'll concede that. However, the SW universe is vast - yet there seems to be multiple revisits to these types of villains. I understand these guys are popular, but how about some variety?

Honestly - I just got annoyed when you put up those pics of Vader & Palpatine.. it had no bearing on what I meant. Had I elaborated a little instead of the playful back & forth (which it seems you have no time for if it doesn't suit you), maybe you'd have worded your above post a little differently.

I've already said I'll give this show a chance - feel free to go back & confirm that for yourself. I LOVE that the McQuarrie designs are actually being implemented for this show - love that.

Anyway..
