That is awesome! Vader's pose is excellent!

Hi, everyone...

I wanted to let you know that I've completed all six pieces in the Star Wars Retro collection that I've been working on over the last couple of years.

Each of these pieces will appear shortly in Topps' new Star Wars: Galaxy 5 series of trading cards along with a few words explaining the influences and inspiration behind each image.

One of these will also be the next image in the ongoing poster series I'm doing with Trends International, and I'd love to hear your thoughts which regard to which piece you think it should be:

Thanks for looking, gang!

I definitely like the sci-fi "B movie" retro vibe of #3 and #6 the best. Awesome!

Also just having a flick through the thread it's awesome to see all those hours sorting prints at Celebration Europe were wasted. They all look amazing.

Especially the AH! Leia one. I knew I should have gotten one of those for myself.

Hey guys - as most of you know... I do a lot of work for ACME these days. My exact title is for them is "Director of Special Operations".... yup, I'm like an ACME commando!

I saw a few pages back on the thread, people had ACME questions. Feel free to PM me those quesitons here, and I'll answer when I can. I try and check in here every few days. If I don't know the answer, I will get you an answer. However, no.. I can't get you discounts or items that are out of stock... lol :)

That aside, I just re-read all 80+ pages of this thread and looked at all the art. Simply awesome to see it all again!!!

I just got my Dave Dorman CIV piece framed. Will post pictures when I get it back. Also going to get my Cat Staggs CIV and CE pieces framed soon too.

If I started framing two pieces a month, every month... I'd be done when I'm about 70 - and I'm 36! (That's no joke.) And jeez... with Celebration V on the way... it's gonna get worse!!!! Thank goodness my wife is waaay tolerant! :wink1:

I recently won Dave Dorman's print of Leia and Han in Carbonite (this one) cheaply on ebay, and I wanted to frame it. At Michaels, I was able to get a nice custom cut matte, a frame, and also have them attach it to a mounting board, all for around $50 (with a coupon). To get a custom frame done by them would've been more than $130, and that was with their 50% off sale. I did similar things with a couple of small pieces for around $10 including both the frame and matte.

So if the pieces you're framing are somewhat close to normal frame sizes (not really wide like some pieces), you're way better off buying an off-the-shelf frame and getting a matte custom cut for your art than having them custom framed. For things that require custom frame sizes, I recommend Americanframe.com.

Will we be seeing a new piece from Waggoner soon?

Why is ACME ending the SW character key line? I though these were popular among collectors?

Some time ago, ACME showed a lightsaber reveal piece of art. Has that project been scrapped?

Thanks in advance.

1. Yes :)

2. We're not scrapping all character keys. It's just the end of the animated line. We're not necessarily through with the new Clone Wars series and there will likely be more character keys, just not in the animated style that Acme/Gentle Giant created a few years back.

3. Not sure about this, but I'll look into it for ya and report back.
