So does this mean all the "whining" about the line being dead (which I'm equally guilty of as well like many others) was all for naught?

We got The Baroness, Destro, Cobra Commander, & now Storm Shadow.

I don't know this guy. Then I saw the movie, it said that this guy was actually Deadpool. And now I know, because the movie told me so. It wasn't reading comics for decades that did. It was the movie.

Kinda like "Destro". If it weren't for SSC putting a large copy of the name of who it's supposed to be, I wouldn't know that it was Destro.

Changes are welcome. Just not an overhaul that COMPLETELY takes away the nostalgia.

Anyway, I understand where you're coming from. I really do. If you don't see Destro in the figure Sideshow created I understand how/why you'd be bummed; we've all waited a long time for him. I see a figure that I'm comfortable calling Destro. That doesn't mean it's a perfect figure and I'm certainly not calling people out who dislike the offering, despite some of my other comments.

Destro is salvageable. We'd have switch out the body and then find someone like Tony Meis who'd make us a body suit with a mega popped collar and a deep v-neck. Not to say that his original outfit ain't flamboyant or anything. I like it. He was the first I owned.

If you can live without it being an ExX theres always cheaper sources than SSC. Heck look at the new SE, even the Ex is so much cheaper on Ebay.

Yeah, maybe. But that SE isn't popular at all. Seems like everyone loves this line's introduction of their first girl figure.

Obviously Sideshow is banking on there being a sizable chunk of collectors who feel the same, and many do. Personally though, if I wanted "modern military" characters bearing a superficial resemblance to Joe characters I know, I would just kitbash them myself for a fraction of the price SSC charges. The distinctive, ARAH accurate looks are much more difficult to get from custom efforts. But that's only my opinion.

Personally though, if I wanted "modern military" characters bearing a superficial resemblance to Joe characters I know, I would just kitbash them myself for a fraction of the price SSC charges. Doing bashes of Joes is easier than doing cobras. Cobras are very distinctive. In fact, I liked GI Joe cause of cobra. Their troops and specialists were all BADASS; and come to think of it, aren't they only doing 4 per year, its funny how they're all cobra.

Yeah, in general the Cobra guys are more distinctive, but that's where a willingness to accept "modern updated interpretations" comes into play. This Storm Shadow for example. Mask is distinctive, so you couldn't perfectly mimic this figure, but you could use a balaclava or Cobra Trooper head and dye/repaint it as needed, cut the sleeves off a gi and paint camo patterns on, find any number of accessories from existing figures and end up with a pretty bad *** looking ninja.

I am waiting for full reveal. I went from unhappy to extremely happy with Destro and Baroness and I'm sure Storm Shadow will look fantastic as well.

Exactly. When GI Joe started (imo) jumping the shark and getting silly, they were still producing pretty cool specialty troops.

So much complaining, griping, & whining must all JOE collectors within this forum (and elsewhere) must do in order for Sideshow to correct the masked head sculpt where the mask will have the same camouflage patten as the outfit?
