Deez, you really ought to get your eyes checked. He's grey, not green. There is one color in the pattern than is close, but its clearly grey. A greenish grey perhaps, but still very much grey in the end.

I have to say I'm very impressed with this guy. I think we all didn't quite get what SS was doing with this figure at first, but over the course of time between pre-order and getting him, I think I get it now. And I love him. We were all right on the camo head and I'm very please Sideshow stood up and included it, and without raising the price of this guy at all. Not every company would do that. But he does look much better with the camo head instead of the black head (yes that is black not grey :lol)

The IED is what it is. Its a missle with a phone, wires, and explosives strapped to it. I'm not sure what people were expecting, but its basically what I thought it was going to be. Its just one one more thing that can blow crap up. Good enough for me.

What I like is basically all of his gear attaches to his backpack. The backpack is easy to remove and I think that is brilliant. If Firefly's cover is blown and he has to get out of there quick, he can quickly take off his backpack with all that heavy gear and toss it. Heck, just pull a grenade pin and that backpack becomes a great IED :lol

Very awesome figure. One of the best, if not best in the line, so far. I'm even considering selling my custom classic Firefly now. He's that good! If you are on the fense, I highly recommend picking him up if you've liked any of Sideshow's other Joes.

Non-primed explosives don't work like that, but we get your point. ;)

Movie logic huh? :lol But really, his bag of mines and grenades wouldn't blow if he pulled one of the grenade pins and tossed the bag? I think I've proved how clueless I am at actual weapons and how they work, so I am genuinely curious. And Nam, I :bow to your knowledge of military items. Its very impressive to say the least.

But yeah, it would be easy to toss all of that and get out quick. And I would think a professional saboteur would have his gear stored like that just in case of getting caught he can quickly ditch it and get out ASAP.

Don't be impressed. I have my moments, but I'm far from an expert. Most explosives, especially the more elaborate ones, have many steps that have to be taken in the process. Many are volatile and will burn quite easily, but most won't provide the spectacular results without the proper conditions. A grenade seems simple enough with just pulling out the pin, but it's rather complex when you look at what goes on inside the shell. :lol

As for the professional saboteur, I think the last thing he'd do is ditch his weapons. Even if it meant moving slower, he'd want to blow stuff up or throw explosives at his pursuers one at a time to slow them up. They're what make him who he is. He relies on stealth and technical knowledge, not physical strength and combat skills. If he can't trip up or stop his pursuers, who'll no doubt be faster, stronger and more combat effective than he is, he'll give up and likely either wait for rescue or bribe his way out of capture by turning into a rat.

Don't sell yourself short. I've seen you post useful info on the Joe line's weapons, most recently with Elvis' weathering on Firefly's gun. I wouldn't have known it was a ploymer either. So even if you feel your knowledge is limited, its far more than most of us know I think :rock

And that does make sense a saboteur wanting to hang onto his stuff. But I guess at least having the backpack easily removable would make getting to the gear easier and therefore easier to toss grenades and stuff at anyone chasing him. It would actually be interesting to see what Firefly would do if he ever messed up and got caught. Or has he? He's always had a perfect record in my mind at least :lol

Of course I was out when Fedex came by, so I went and picked him up

What an incredible figure, it amazes how SS can do such good work yet drop the ball at every opportunity with 1:6 lines.

The IED isnt that bad in person, no gripes with it at all

Awesome figure SS, I have my money waiting to give you for more figures but not more statues.

Oh and this mutha ____a is green, not off black, not grey, green. Might not be kermit the frog green but a shade of green

Heres a shot, I was very imaginative with pose :monkey1

looks good deez....and glad to hear the ied is not as bad as some depicted....

I almost wanted to cancel the EX when I saw how cheap the IED looked in the pics, but I remembered I used almost $90 in Reward points to order FF. Mine comes on Tuesday, and I'm sure I'll be happy with him with all the pics and positive opinions of the figure. In fact, he'll probably be the only Joe so far that I don't make major mods too (I've at least swapped bodies and boots on all my others).
