South Park vs. Family guy vs. The Simpsons

The Simpsons by far, but I'm referring to the older episodes mostly. Then South Park, followed by Family Guy. Family Guy is really funny in moments, but when your humor solely consists of thinking of stupid crap that makes no sense, and has nothing to do with the story (i.e. "that reminds me of the time we sodomized a goldfish with a french fry" or some such nonsense), its hard to place it on the same level as those classic, brilliant Homer moments.

The Simpsons used to be great but I haven't watched it in like 5 years. When it got to the point where the show seemed to focus on Homer he started to become annoying to me. Way too much of a good thing I guess.

I stoped watching Simpsons when every week there was some 2 bit celebrity trying to plug themselves.

However, FG does have its moments....but they are small.

I can't believe the Simpsons are coming in 3rd. I watch and love all three shows. I still put the Simpsons at the top, not because of what they did but now the show is funny again.
If you ask people in the industry they tend to agree the Simpsons is the better show. Trey Parker and Matt Stone were on Jimmy Kimmel and he asked them how they feel about the Emmys. They said they lose to the Simpsons every year and rightfully so, nothing against South Park but the Simpsons is the Simpsons.
I am sure Seth MacFarlane would probably disagree as Family Guy does a great job of poking fun at the Simpsons, and in every instance it is really funny. I really enjoy the show but the similarities to the Simpsons is just too numerous for me. Not just the family dynamic but if you watch Simpsons episodes from the early 90's they are very similar to the Family Guy of today in structure and tone. It would be like preferring Oasis over the Beatles. But that's just how I see it.

The Simpsons haven't made me laugh in the last 10 seasons.
South Park is more topical than funny these days...the episodes are hit or miss.
Family Guy is all around great.Some hit and miss there too though..prom night dumpster baby and that Conway Twitty are awful.

Family Guy by a mile!
I can't stand The Simpsons any more, they can't make me laugh in an entire 30 minute episode.
When I see a 30 second preview for Family Guy I'm laughing my a$$ off!
South Park is trying too hard to stay relative.
You gotta love the Calvin & Hobbes reference in Sundays episode of Family Guy!

Don't forget the manatees. I love them all, but chose FG because I sometimes feel SP tries too hard to be all current and relative. FG does it too, but it seems less pretentious. Just a feeling I have, but like I said I do LOVE SP too. Love this clip from FG...

I love all three shows really, but I think South Park is the most entertaining of the three. They all have their faults, but I love them despite the flaws. And American Dad is growing on me, I hated it at first.
