I am not sure about others but I liked this Con better than last years. The two hobbits, the new LOTR dio and GtW really made me happy. And don't forget the Indy and Godfather license! :D

I dont know, maybe its me, but I thought SS did have a lot of amazing product to offer.
Vampyre Life-Size Bust
T-800 (Arnold) Life-Size Bust
Chucky Life-Size Figure
AVP2 - Shuriken Prop Replica
AVP2 - Plasma Cannon Prop Replica
AVP2 - Predator Mask Prop Replica
Robocop Premium Format Figure / Maquette
Stealth Iron Man Comiquette
Thor VS Loki Diorama
Black Cat Comiquette - Adam Hughes
..etc...

I think some people dont believe SS had much mainly cause they didnt have products in their specific line they were looking for. That doesnt mean they had a subpar year.

Personally I dont collect SW, and last year's Jabba announcement excited me for all of 0secs. Im only now realizing Jabba was even a big deal:lol.

Sometimes you get products you want, sometimes you dont.... its really no big deal...more money for beer n porn :monkey1

Agree with all of what you've said. I don't collect the majority of SS lines, yet I'm not unappreciative of them. For whatever my take on the Con is worth, the buzz around the Sideshow booth was electric (as it is at every Con). There were people who seemed to be stunned by all the products on display. Regardless of what your interest is, it cannot be denied that Sideshow's products were heads above most of the others. IMO, only Gentle Giant could come close in quality and diversity. And even there (and at other mid-to-high-end booths), I kept hearing "Sideshow" a lot. Folks were comparing and Sideshow was winning it seemed.

As for the display scheme not being different. True, there wasn't much change from last years'. But, it was the most organized and most accessible display on the exhibit floor. There was no bottleneck between lookers and buyers and overflow gridlock and subsequent air of frustration and unhappiness that plagued the other booths. Much calmer place IMO and contributed to the ambience that Sideshow is not your normal collectibles manufacturer/distributor. There was a certain dignified air around the place....and very effective in presenting the entire company. Especially of note is that this display scheme was most effective in allowing free and unfettered interaction between the collectors/lookers and the SS staff. Everywhere within the display area, you saw knots of people with at least one of the SS reps talking, joking, and connecting. And there was a "full court press" of the entire staff there on the floor -- totally approachable. I also noticed that more and more exhibitors were adopting some of the SS practices...most needing much more work.

Totally agree Rumi!!

No. They were no-shows. :( And thusly, they missed out on seeing the many lovely Sideshow beauties wearing outfits that would turn gay men straight. :google

Did any of them happen to turn Josh straight?

j/k dude, you know I love to bust your balls :monkey1

Hm, you must not have been around during Sunday's 'Sideshow Dance Party'... watch for video :lol

Seriously though, thanks Rumi, your words mean a lot to us. We spent a TON of work and stress as a group prior to this year's Con, and we think it went really really well from the perspective of fan reactions and interest on the floor. You know what was really really popular AT the con? The World of Warcraft diorama! It got a TON of interest and photos. It's an insane piece of craftmanship! Can't wait to see what else they have planned for that line.

Anyway, thanks to everyone for participating, both online and off. It was a blast. And now I'm gonna sleep for 12 hours ;) :duff

You're welcome Dusty. I am glad you recognize the awesomeness I brought to the otherwise average online chat.(I know you couldn't mention me specifically so as not to offend anybody)

I spent alot of time at the SS, GG and the Master Replicas booth. And the AVP items at the SS booth were the only ones that I seen caused the passers by to curse with how cool they looked. You know the standard "holy ****ing **** that cool" which I heard several times or something of the like over the shuriken. The Warcraft Dio looks amazing the detail is insane. The Hot Toys prison break figures even though not SS were amazing the hobbit were well awesome. The Sideshow booth as mentioned was the same set up but it works and is nothing to complain about. The GG booth was painful to try and get a good look at many of the items since the line for the exclusives normally stopped you from doing so or the mob to get pics with the Jabba.

There's a lot of good points here so I won't repeat them. Needless to say I personally was very impressed with Sideshow's booth and the products that were on display. That being said, Sideshow was THE CLASS of the show not because of their products but because of their people. I finally had the chance to meet these awesome people in person and they are in a class by themselves. They're not pompous asses like some other manufacturer reps. From company VP's to managers to customer service reps to the web team they all had time to talk to you and not brush you off. My hat's off to you guys who worked 10 plus hours a day and did it with a smile and humility to your customers/fans. Thank you!

Although I was disappointed that Kieth and Klauder weren't there to sign autographs. I did speak with Heath and Scott though and they said they'd pass on my admiration to them. :monkey5 :D
