It's just one picture, but something looks a little off about the proportions in this image. I think they did a pretty good job on that with the big maquette, but this one has better detailing.
Head area is too big, tail is too small.

Very cool. I do like this one more than the maquette, assuming the final production can stay close to the proto.
Looking forward to more info.

When will be the 2014 X-Plus Godzilla available? Or is it already available? Sorry but it´s difficult for me to understand...

It's already out. I'd place an order at HobbySearch if you want him. Not sure how much longer he'll last there.

Shared these in the Godzilla Collectibles Thread, but they may be more at home here.

Going to guess this is 14-16". Seems like they slimmed the body down, no?

Thank you so much for the pics! I definitely like the maquette better -- it has a much better pose, base and is more film accurate. This smaller one does have a lot of detail though.

No it isn't, there are details on the maquette that are more generic than accurate. This new one isn't perfect but it's much closer.

Strongly disagree. Head on the new one is too big and the rest of the body is out of proportion.

Proportions are better on the maquette, I'll agree, but the details are far more off on the maquette.
Agreed. But this is a proto. The maquette proto had better detail than what it appears the final product will reflect.

I'm not talking about the level of detail, I'm sure some will reduce on this as well, which is fine, a few areas are too sharply defined, I just mean the shapes and the sculpt details. The face on this one is much closer to the CGI model, despite side to the body, the spines are more specific to the shapes from the model where the Maquette is a bit generic, the textures on the spines are more accurate, the texture to his back is more accurate.

In matching details, I'd say the maquette was bout 70% there, this one is about 80-85% right, the maquette is about 90% right in proportions, this is about 80% and I don't think the head is too far off but the big roar pose exaggerates the disproportion.

I wonder if there's some problem taking pics from a frontal view because I've seen some face shots from that angle but not one full body shot. It looks great in the angles we've seen I'm just curious if you turn it so the movie title base reads accross correctly, how would it look.

I preferred the idea of the Maquettes base but in reality the cat litter comment was spot on and ruined it.

This would look awesome in my Besta.

The base is a bit crap, I agree. If they don't want to use an actual sculpted base I would have prefered the Gojira kanji symbol in red on a simple black background. That would have been subtle and have a nice simplicity to it.

If he has to be placed onto the base, it could be somewhat easy to modify.
