I can't get over how much their new Godzilla looks like he escaped a Kaiju psych hospital!

He's like a combo of the Joker and the Vampire girl from Frightnight 1 with a touch of Rocky Marciano's nose.

He's definately a biter!

Evangelion (all of them), Berserk GAA, Attack on Titan (film).

Like Japan culture overall, lately his work sounds too westernized and messy.
And waaay too much lyrics. Not to mention English lyrics.

I've heard rumor that this may be the '54 that didn't die but has spent 60 years regenerating and isn't finished but well enough to return to the world. If this strange look is a plot point, I can get on board. If this is just a new interpretation, I'm all set, what a weird twist if American studio understands better how to do a fresh design more than the origin studio.

I've heard some rumors that....

the Godzilla in this is actually the original 1954 version brought back to life by the ***ushima disaster, but he's kind of corpse-like and messed up at first, and he'll be going after nuclear power plants to fully regenerate himself.

I don't know if that's a rumor that's been going around on the internet for some time now or what, but it sounded kind of interesting.

The folk over at Birth.Movies.Death. have gotten word on Godzilla's scratched and wounded demeanor, which apparently is his first form in the movie!

That's right! Godzilla will be changing forms not once but twice for a total of three separate looks, the final of which apparently will be what fans have come to know and love over the years.
