Thanks! Yes, my focus is primarily OT. The only non OT Hot Toys figure I have is the shoretrooper which was too good to pass on. I guess technically the TFA R2 and Battlefront flying Snowie aren't OT either ;-)

Actually, the TFA R2 could pass as to any Episode or trilogy. Because he always looked dirty and just as the same to be honest. Unlike 3PO who'd always look different from each trilogy.

Very true. I really hope Hot Toys do a OT C3PO. The TFA one looks too dumpy, presumably to accommodate Daniels increased girth ;-)

Hi :)

As I've got my Posting Permissions updated (ok to upload attachments now), and changed Vader's escorts, sending both Sandtroopers on patrol :lol I'll risk to post pics of my cave with the rest of my collection. It's small and simple, but nice to watch a film surrounded by the figures :wink1:

My best,

Very nice little theater room you've got there. And a nice collection to go with it. :)

Really nice Coral Sea!

Cool setup Coral Sea!!

Love it Coral Sea!

That's a very nice collection Coral Sea.

Hi loki2371, NDSam, jkno, RebelSpy007 and Bikerscout :)

Thank you, very much, for your comments!
Nice you have enjoyed my place.

My main problem on this room is it's size. Needs extra care to place things there, or it can ends with a crouded look.

There were 6 original shelves until last week. These 6 shelves already have LED lights on the 45º inclined part of the base (they were projected for this feature), that gives a nice touch over the figures when the room lights are off.
As the collection went bigger during last months, I was forced to ask for 8 extra shelves; 3 of them are already placed there, but I had no time yet to install the extra LEDs.
On this new project, there will be LED lights not only ant the base of each shelf, pointing upwards, but at the underside of the immediately above shelf too, pointing downwards. This way, figures will receive lights from 2 directions, front-down and front-above, making a better effect.

As it get finished, I post the results here

Thanks again!

My best,
Carlos.

Cool, I'd be interested in the updated lighting pics. It's hard to see where you have the led lights at the moment. I assume the 45° is right on the front lip of the shelf.

Is that really the only lighting for these pics ? They seem to be very well lit not just from below here. I guess you had the overhead lights on too ??

Sweet pictures. Very nice collection Coral Sea. Can you tell me, how is the articulation on those PT battle droids? I always liked them and wanted to have a few in my collection but I don't want to start collecting anything outside of Star Wars OT. My main concern with those droids are the ankle joints, and SS sometimes releases flimsy bodies. :(

Thanks for sharing.

Hi Hoody999 :)

On the images I have posted, the LEDs were off. I used the normal room light only, that are ceiling spots.

Here is how 4 of the shelves looks with the under LEDs turned on and the room spotlights turned off.

LEDs lits the figures from bellow.

When the project is ready, there will be LEDs from above the figures too.

Hi stickman :) Thank you!

Well, abou the Battle Droids: they are very funny to have in the collection, they really deliver a very nice visual effect depending on the poses you manage to let them. I don't regret to have them.
For purposes of Star Wars set, I decided to stay with the original trilogy too, but to do this, I considered as original the first 6 films and Rogue One as an extra plus (just my POV), as they all show the original characters in a given time line, like Vader/Anakin, Obiwan, Leia, Palpatine, Yoda and others.
So, in my personal opinion again, it would make sense to have figures presented on these 7 movies.
I will not collect figures from this new trilogy. The exceptions are the two troopers from TFA, that I bought before I realized that I would build a Star Wars set. So I let both quiet there. No problem.

Going back to the Battle Droids, they are very cool, but, like the Jawas, their bodies and articulations are very, very soft, limp or floppy (don't know if I'm using the right words here...).
Yes, it's hard to have them standing on a deserved position, but with care, patience and avoiding to bump / shake the shelves, they stay nice there.

I like them. They are very funny.

My best,
Carlos.

Thanks Carlos. I almost had the same issue with my lighting. I tested at the bottom as it's easiest to hide the LED's there, but after a trial (and some questions to members here) I could see that from above was definitely the only way to go. I'll be interested to see how your figures are lit with both.

I was too cheap to do both top and bottom :) But if it's better, I may need to invest in some more LED's. :lol
