I have noticed the majority of "exclusives" offered at the con, regardless of manufacturer / brand / limitations / product are available after the fact by the dealers... in the past, tracking down these items would have required a trip to ebay.

perhaps it is the economy... perhaps the masses are not interested in limited merch just for the sake of limits... perhaps the dealers don't limit the exclusives enough and their own merch becomes "watered down"...

it will be interesting to watch how the con of 2009 affects the one in 2010... in many aspects, it seems companies such as SST, Gentle Giant, E-FX and Hot Toys keep upping their games... but are they in danger of becoming "holding companies" instead of collectible companies? why offer comic con exclusives if only to have them available cheaper the week after to the general public?
