Saw this on Gino Roberto's page and have been wondering about how he did the scales. Several people have asked him,but he's not answered anyone about it. Any thoughts?

If its sculpted, one way is using a metal tool like this:

But I'm not sure he made them that way. After looking at his pics, I think he made them one by one in epoxy for example, applied them when they were hard but still uncured to get them to the shape. Maybe glued them. And it only works if the legs are fixed.

If they are posable, it must be some fabric or rubber.
 
He cut them out in leather and glued one by one on a bodysuit. That is what he told me.

Damn... that's some dedication. And the final product looks really good; I'd think that would have ended up looking really bulky.
