People are always more than willing to spend money on wants more so than needs.

always.....unless of course you are starving, your family doesn't have a roof over their heads, or the kids don't have milk, you lack shelter, medicine is needed during sickness, you need to fill up the gas to get to work etc..........

...the flesh is willing but the polystoned is weak.

i guess not always.

Even in those cases people tend to choose wants over needs. It happens everyday and that is a fact. I teach kids everyday whose parents choose their own self wants and sometimes needs over their own kids. People with extra income that maybe should do better things with it always seem to spend that money on wants. So I stand by what I said. :lecture

i will be nice today since it's your bithday :wave

I've seen your opinion on it as well as a couple others. I stand by what I said and gladly spend my money on it for that reason. :duff

It's not like there's not a lot of reference material sideshow could have used..... I blame it all on the guy who did the art work....since SS just copied that....

You can blame it all on me if you like.......... there. You should feel much better now. Now. Let's move on!

The art work is amazing...those who disagree I think are out to lunch.

Theirs so much contrast and detail that I could stare at it for hours. The colors are so vivid and clean that you almost get lost looking at it after a while.

I already got Jerry's print up and framed awaiting this piece to arrive to display with it.

Agreed on the print. The work Jerry did is phenomenal and IMO captures Sauron perfectly. That set up and any set up really are going to look great together.

I think the look of the statue is somewhat improved by displaying it with other than a straight-on view, particularly based on these photos. There is an incredible amount of detail here and a significant amount is lost if viewed strictly head-on.

I've found the same to be true with my Morgul Lord PF which is displayed in three-quarter view.

If this truly turns out to be an open edition I'll wait a while. My biggest worry is still how well the production pieces turn out with the orange glow. In Josh's pictures the effect seems much more subtle than many of the other representative photos and IMO is the much preferred approach. Heavy-handed airbrush technique could turn this into a glow-in-the-dark Halloween pumpkin with spikes.

The other problem I'll have (and WILL solve) is where in the heck to display the two massive upcoming pieces: Sauron and The Dark Rider of Mordor. Jerry's giclée is already framed and ready for action.

The high resolution pictures are amazing. If you were to have one LoTR piece in your collection this would be it.

What did the print cost? I really like it.

Just ordered the Canvas gallery wrap...It's such a beautiful piece and if it was up to me I'd add a wide antique frame and hang it over the mantle...but my wife is still alive ...that means no...
