Yea, looks like the price dropped on the older weta stuff, the Sauron from that line used to be $600+ all day so I thought $300 was a steal until I looked at the last few on eBay.

Sideshow statue wise my LOTR collection has not grown, but I added the blu rays of the hobbit and LOTR over October time, and got a TT film slide, may add the ROTK slide to finish the spot off. But overall with my limited space in my collection room, this came out awesome. These 3 just look perfect together

My Darth Vader PF arrived today, now I did a size comparison of Darth Vader and Sauron, its safe to say Sauron very much holds the title has the true dark lord. I looked at their hands and feet, damn Sauron makes vader look like a child haha

If we measure say what the heights of both characters, vader about 6 ft 5, or 6 ft 8, Sauron is about 9 ft 2, his helmet probably gets him to say 9 ft 8. In a way the Sauron PF could have been about 45 inches tall, it just shows the mass this character is at full strength

I thought Sauron was 9 ft 2 in the films/books, think a bit of both of his 1/4 scale height and real height. At the peak of his powers in the second age, was Sauron 9 ft 2? or 12 feet tall? When we look at the 1/4 scale Sauron, and comparing him to saruman, the witch king, or vader, they don't even get past his shoulder height. I compared vader's feet to Sauron's, its pretty terrifying just how big Sauron's feet and hands are

I meant that at 36" is the size of some 1:2 scale pieces(my 1:2 T2 Endo was 36"). He is fairly accurate for 1/4 scale, ~9' seems too small(and that wouldn't count the helm) so figure ~30"(actual body)x4=120" or 10'

It will be $2K+ for a P1 Sauron though. Cheaper to buy this one and have Jerry repaint it to be perfect.

If they do it right, yea, probably with an ES lower than the PF though. The PF is creeping up, last 2 I saw sell were 1200-1300, so I would expect some people to drop 2K, but it would have to be epic.

I will keep my eye out on what P1 do with Sauron, won't be getting it as the PF is mindblowing, yeah we can say the paint work could have been better, but I cannot see P1 beating SS, even the base alone is a masterpiece. I have not been totally impressed with Prime 1's snooze fest motionless poses, and their bases

The leg pose from the the Vanderstelt artwork did not translate well to the SS version. Neither did the paint job which made his armor look like plastic with that orange effect. Sauron sat there for months, not selling out because it was not an instant must buy for many.

I can't wait to see what P1 does with him and the Fellowship. Perhaps tackle some prologue stuff like Isildur, High Elven Warrior, etc.
