Just heard this on the radio. Hollywood has been hit hard this year.

He did over 5,000 movie trailers and 300,000 radio/tv commercials.

His signature line was " In a world where..."

Why was this guy so popular? I am sure a ton of other people could do what he did just as well.

He lived a long enough life though I suppose. 68 is a good age to die.

Rory. Really one of the most tactless people I e-know. :lol

:lol:lol:rotfl

Yes. It's true. Honesty without apology is usually my motto. :lecture

That, and I also think famous people get way too much credit for dying. People die everyday, everywhere and only the famous ones get a tear shed over them. It's ridiculous how much stock is put into what people did and not who they really were. Ghey. :lol

I actually agree with you, but I also feel it is ridiculous that you feel the need to point out you feel this way in every thread like this. There are lots of threads here that I think are just "look at me I want attention" threads, but I usually just refrain from posting in them.

Not even close. Watch the video clip at the site linked by the OP. It was kind of a tribute to him (done long before his death, BTW), and it features numerous other voice-over artists, all of whom acknowledge that he was the best there ever was. One even joked that "in a world where there was no Don LaFontaine, we'd all have a lot more money."

RIP Don. This world won't be quite the same without you.

Self-control problem I have maybe...:lol
