Media Resident Evil Revelations 2

Why do people use The Last Of Us as some kind of comparison to resident evil? After ages of avoiding the game i actually played the ps4 version with my friend. And its completely unoriginal. And the only comparison i can draw TO Resident Evil is that

1) Joel Escorting Ellie from A to B because she has blood that can save mankind whilst lots of cover shooting = Game of the year
2) Sherry Escorting Jake from Point A to point B because he has blood that can save mankind whilst lots of cover shooting = **** (even though Re 6 has about 12 more hours of campaign gameplay, not to mention its multi player co-op start to end in all campaigns and then the extra modes are far better)

I really dont get it. TLOU as a game itself is good, but its got no reason to be held in such high regard. I really really dont get it. Its a mix of games thats been around for years before it. It has nothing of its own to make its mark.

And i wish more than me and 2 more people in this thread had of played more than the demo of revelations. Because its incredibly obvious when people havent got anything to talk about when they must just post gifs and pictures of random middle age women people in america only know because they cannot talk about revelations 1. Revelations 1 being the best resident evil in the last 10 years but of course nobody would know that because after having sucking at controlling Sheva in Re 5 and blaming the game for not using a tool in the AI, and then playing 2 hours of Re 6 they think they know better.

We have Claire Returning, Daughter of Barry Burton AND Barry Burton in a survival horror, of which the first game was great. And we have pictures of the Resident Evil movies? People using the same shallow arguments from pre-Re 6? I love Resident Evil but some people just post out of their arse when it comes to discussing something they havent had a clue about since 1998

Is someone seriously saying that RE 6 was better than TLOU? Wtf...

The greatest highlights of TLOU were the immersive experience and the story. Personally, I have no complaints about the controls or the gameplay for that matter (it used a tried and tested formula from other games, but what exactly is the problem with that?).

the thing is with TLOU it had you always on Alert from those clickers & Runners because you're limited on Ammo which leads to using stealth more.
RE6 though, you don't need to go stealth just Shoot whats ahead of you and never worry about ammo .. it's an action game rather than having a bit of horror element.. grandted the Leon Campaign got a lil bit of it.. but not so much.

I Love both Franchises, i Enjoyed RE6 as an action game and i'm looking forward to this one, more so than the Remake HD "If they deliver what they're promising"

I get what you're saying, and agree with some of it…but Capcom themselves, have said they are looking to LoU for inspiration. LoU is relevant right now, and in the minds of people when it comes to "survival horror" esque games. If this was 1999, people would be making comparisons between Silent Hill and Resident Evil. It happens. A couple years from now, the same thing will happen but with a different game.

And with the price point they're putting RERev2 at, and the recent HD Remake coming out, it feels like they're testing the waters. So don't expect RErev2 to be very revolutionary. It will borrow heavily from current Survival horror titles and past RE games. but it should be a fun ride and I'm really excited about it…also BARRY!

I didn't mind the slight changes to Jills face, I still thought she looked close enough. I think if they at least put Claire in a better outfit it would be better, her face seems most wrong in the eyebrows. Give her a brow job before releasing!! Why didn't they just use the Degeneration face model? And I also thought Helena stole a Claire outfit in RE6.

Also thought Moira looks like a female version of reboot DMC Dante.

This is who I always played as in Outbreak File #1. He needs his own game damn it. He almost did for RE3 before they scrapped it. Perhaps Revelations 3?
