Actually selling one is illegal but it would not be in Lucas'es best enterest to go after every single person so thats why these small number are not sued. Look at all the stories you see on RS about companies getting sues, I think thats what they are worried about.
 
unfortunately recasting isn't anything new. If any of you are into collecting movie prop replicas, then you'll know they have pretty much the same thing going on there. Someone will spend days/weeks making their own prop replica of something... and a while after they'll see an EXACT copy of their work up on ebay, with the seller pretending he put all the time in to make it.

It's not good.
 
I've been looking for an Anna Valerious figure just so I can recast the face and make some sculpted hair.
Of course this is for my own personal collection, so I can have an AV and maybe make my own Selene since it doesn't look like we're getting her.
