as a film supposedly showing the same universe and beginning the story of Star wars Episodes IV-VI: 3/10

as an adventure film: 8.5/10

Friday the 13th...6/10 really was dissapointed. Forgettable kills, forgettable cast, doesn't even come close to the original. Too much camp.

Quarantine...7.5/10. Good attempt at combining handheld first person action (a la Cloverfield) films with new age zombie flicks. Nice.

John Carpenter's Cigarette Burns - 7/10 with one of the nastiest decapitation scenes I've seen in a while. Then to make myself feel better (I'm not a big horror fan but the wife's a confirmed ghost story and horror film addict) I watched:

Big Trouble in Little China - 10/10.

Control (movie about Ian Curtis of Joy Division): C

Must have been made for the hard-core fans of this band, because for a casual New Order fan like myself, there wasn't much to keep it interesting. Curtis appeared to be a weak-willed, unlikable character, so I didn't feel much for him at the end. BUT, maybe that was the point, and maybe this was what he was really like? I liked his swinging arms dance, though.

The movie sagged in the middle part and the support actors, aside from Cass's mother and father were very week. But the lead actor who played Cass was brilliant and he deserved a better script. The third act is the best part

Pineapple Express - 8/10 - This movie was great. It was overall entertaining and hilarious. Had a great mix of drug use, comedy and violence.

The Incredible Hulk - new one

Sucked. Maybe ok. But Hulk still looks stupid, cartoonish. I thought those days were over. I recently watched King Kong PJ's and Kong looked awesome.

I can't believe how many people are down on that movie . . I absolutely loved it. I have seen it 3 times and I love it more each time.


American Splender - 7 / 10
The best thing about this is the way in which it was filmed . . mixing the real people with the actors and breaking away documentary style every now and then while still flowing smoothly.

Man with the Screaming Brain - 6 / 10
Most people will hate this movie. But it is pure campiness and I am a Bruce Campbell fanatic. I am really looking forward to seeing My Name is Bruce.

Pretty much my same "preference ordering." I didn't even see Balboa until a couple months ago, but I was genuinely surprised at how great it was, and how nicely it book-ended the series.
