Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

The idea is to get this as a ball jointed neckless version similar to Bill. Travis Bickles jawline is perfect for that BL body neck. The only real issue is sculpt size. If Rainman works with the BL body than he's also forced to work with adapting a better size for the sculpt, one that works well with the BL.

Ultimately it's what Rainman decides. Mags and I are going to find out soon enough what he can and cannot do. So far there's been alot of positive feedback so we're definately on the right track with this project.

By the the way have you watched the movie yet? You said you were going to watch it. If you did what did you think?

I actually watched it earlier this year when I saw a lot of pictures of him in the Rainman interest thread (All from you hahaha) I enjoyed the film, but I was more impressed by the directing than the story. Obviously everyone loves the acting in the movie. I even watched some random review videos on youtube (all with less than 500 views since the movie is so old compared to youtube) but I could not relate to Travis the way some of those guys were repeatedly stressing. Still a great movie to watch... and was refreshing for a guy who grew up only knowing DeNiro as the CIA guy from Meet The Fockers. :rotfl

I suppose a body repaint will be the only remedy but then Rainman should be the one to paint it; if not that opens up other issues. If he won't paint the body himself then I'm assuming he would try to match the sculpts skin tone to the body. How will that effect our efforts in getting the body painted after the fact?

I hope that the pointmen, those who are advising and in essence holding the reigns on this could see the big picture and give better advise than was given on the PF boys. There's a little extra time to think things thru and sensibly. Let's not end up with bad choices like the Enterbay body :slap. Hopefully wiser choices can be made this time around

A 21?

I may have my Truetype numbers mixed, but the one that's skinny haha. Maybe we should just have a poll... but I don't even know if a majority or even close to that care about how shirtless Travis will look. If he's coming with the mohawk, who is going to be posing him shirtless? 3 of you?

If the only other option was that Knockoff body that was suggested, then I'd rather go with the enterbay body.

Sam Jackson is 6'2 and John Travolta is 5'11 so there is going to be a difference in height. I can't comment on it being to wide or muscular but again we dont have it in hand so you can't assume that no mods have been done to it.

Also that body choice was Rainman's. He had a good connect with Enterbay and had to pull some favors for those bodies. I don't see many other options for African American bodies.

I see no problems with the body other than to cause confusion.

And to clear things up, I was not a pointman for Pulp Fiction, I wasnt even sure I was going to go in on it - But I intend to be a Thorn in Rainman's side for Travis Bickle :lol

Anyways, Postive Vibes Fellas....Travie is going to be a Masterpiece. That's the intention.

I have the Enterbay MIB figures... the bodies are easily the worst of allll the figures I own. I have to put them in their own detolf shelf since they do indeed look out of scale with other figures I own. Worst part is that their poseability is extremely limited by their stand since the knees aren't wobbly... but marionette level of loose. Love the paint/sculpts of the heads so I still enjoy this release, but the bodies are a huge disappointment. I sometimes find myself wondering if Rainman really wanted a black body simply for people who would even want to pose Jules with his dork clothes on. (Doubt that's very many, if any) Since Jules wears a suit and the head has a neck sculpted onto it, none of the body is visible wearing the suit. And I'm sure Rainman could have just painted the hands. :dunno Asked Rainman about using a truetype, and he said his tailor told him using a HT truetype is "almost similar but not bad." I'll probably still try to find an Enterbay body, but I'm really hoping Rainman shies away from using them in the future until they work the problems out.

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

What do WOBBLY knees affect? Will the figure not stand correctly?

Maybe we should move this conversation to the Jules thread, It probably needs a bump :lol

You have to pose him with his knees close together and straight while using an Enterbay waist hugger stand. I'm not sure a crotch grabber will work since it may tilt over if you bump your detolf, etc. I know some people sent theirs back into Enterbay for repair... but they just applied some glue to the joints to stiffen them up. :slap Guess we'll see... and can do something similar.

Actually if it were a poll you would have already lost. If you go back and check the thread the majority have considered the idea of using the BL body over what has already been done countless times with the standard suggested trutype. The BL body offers more quality and variety, is more accurate (height, weight) and is really just a much more interesting approach overall. You really can't deny that body...nipples and all

I'll take your word for it. I'm just not the biggest fan of bodies with a nonremovable neck. I greatly prefer heads that have a sculpted neck, but I may be in the minority for that as well. But painting the entire body for proper skin tone... well I just hope it turns out well and doesn't have any long term problems.

It's all up to Rainman. Lets see what he decides :hi5:

I'm in the same boat. Looks like we are in the minority here. :lol

Thanks for the confirmation. That's the same story that you hear from everyone that owns J. I was saying this from early on but I couldn't get anyone to listen. I wish everyone did a little homework in the beginning to double check me and they would've saw that I have valid point. If we spoke up early we could have nipped this in the bud.

I don't mean to be a neg... just a little disappointed in the way these were thrown together.

I'll take my PF negativity out of the Bickle thread....

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

kinda feel bad now about Jules...i stopped reading a while ago and had no idea RM was using the EB body...i have had the MIB set since they first came out and right out of the box they were very loose...i was able to tighten them up using trade secrets (glue) but i wasn't happy that "I" had to do this to a brand new figure....anyways....I hope RM is listening to "us"...:)

Wobbly knees plus shoulders so tight you couldn't lift them up horizontally...

dude just because you've been shot does not make you entitled to belittle others. You have no idea what the other person has been through and just because they are on these boards (like you) does not mean they cannot go through what you have been through. They've probably been through worse.

I've had supervisors go through some real **** and they have been some of the nicest, humblest people i ever met. 1 was in the battle of mogadishu and the other was blown up by a car bomb while on patrol in afghanistan (the rest of his 9 member squad was killed).

pointless post. I was defending the broken english and i explained why. I didn't just introduce myself that way. Read before you get defensive.

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

If you take all the letters that make 'cutterluv', remove the 'e' and put the 'l' in front of the 'u', then dispose of those two together and the rest of the remaining letters, then replace with 'h-s-a-d-f-l-w-o-a' in a specific order, it makes 'shadowfla'.

Coincidence?

It also accounts for my arms. When I was found in the northville tunnels in northville Michigan, my arms were all cut up. You could google me, but who wants to see a post shot up female narc????

Lets end this, my novel is the last Adam, ok kids, that's who I am. Lets move on from there ok, back to Rainmans figure.

I was merely being humorous.

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

A nice accessory would be a smashed up television set, the crate the TV was sitting on, a crumpled up $20 from Sport, the bloody/cum rag he used to wipe his seat down with, pornography poster or magazine, bottle of schnapps or brandy, his diary, and although we never see this, Easy Andy did offer him cocaine, nemmbies, meth, grass and assorted pills it would be nice to see pill bottles or a bag of grass or coke.

How do I sign up and give a deposit ????

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

Welcome to the board, cutterluv. Rainman doesn't keep a list or take deposits. Step one is to sign up on his website. It may take several days for him to set up your account, so don't delay. His site will announce the order date. He has a cart system and takes Paypal. But his editions are low, his fans are worldwide, and things sell out in minutes. He typically takes orders for fully finished figures he has painted personally first, then head+clothing kits with someone else doing the paints a few days later, then clothing kits and unpainted heads last. Everything sells out quickly.

Here's where you start:
https://rainmanart.kr/index.php

That'll also give you an idea of what his works sell for...

:welcome
