They are tips for chair or table legs. Not sure exacly where mine came from originally, I just found them in my garage, but Lowes sells them:

I also saw some at Target the other day. I'm sure you can find them at Wal-Mart or any hardware store as well.

This'll be great for those of you who want to get the Luke and Han heads repainted! You won't have to sit for months with headless figures on your shelves!!

You got that right! I plan on stuffing a helmet with foam tomorrow while Han's severed head visits you.

I tried doing the chair tip method but could not find anything at either lowes or home depot that would fit it.. I bought quite a few before doing measurements.. lost the receipts.. and finally got some foam and had the mod done in 2 seconds.

first time seeing this thread and wow such an easy mod! with the price that stormtroopers are going it may just yet be worth getting this set to have extra sculpts for ANH Luke and Han and getting 2 nice glossy trooper as well!
