Prime 1 - Ripley (Aliens)

Just taken few quick pics for you guys to enjoy, with a camera that's not a smart phone lol. Overall very happy with her, i'm also a Hot Toys collector so the mixed media for me, works really well. I know its not everyones cup of tea. But it really adds to the realism. The attention to detail is amazing, on the clothes, shoes, everything. I think the infinity mirror is a bit of a gimmick but hey its there lol.

Is the Alien egg worth getting the deluxe for? I am torn between just paying $400 less for the regular version.

The egg is a nice addition, but a little underscaled - It was included with mine from Prime one directly, I don't think there was an option to buy without the egg, but for an extra $400 (Aud i take it?) I would think twice about it, as it all adds up.

Yes, $400 AUD. It is available at a couple of retailers here, but $400 is quite a bit of extra to pay for the extra addition. I think I will just go with the regular and save the extra cash.

Edit: Somehow I missed the deluxe version was also at the cheaper retailer too, so it ends up only being $100 more. I am happy to just pay that for the egg.

I got a waitlist conversion for Paul Atreides from Sideshow but they say he is delayed until end of this month/next month. Others here already have him directly from Prime 1. I should have went that route. Sideshow is probably still waiting for their shipment from Prime 1. Hopefully it all converts soon.

I received her yesterday, and overall she is great but I do hope that we see another effort at some point. The face sculpt issues are still apparent in hand, with her only looking fairly accurate from a few choice angles. I also wish they had the Reebok license (I'm just assuming they don't) as seeing Ripley 4 times on a single shoe is a bit ridiculous. I also wish the egg had been designed to be incorporated with the statue in some way, as sitting off to the side looks odd and out of place.
All of that aside, the paint apps are well done, the lighted base works well (although idk who will actually display it like that), and there are some nice details like the railing being made from metal.

That would be the earliest. You likely wont see it until sometime in 2024. Typically they run about 6-9 months behind.

This is very nice. It's one of the few Ripley sculpts I've seen that really looks like Sigourney Weaver. She's a bit like Harrison Ford, you get some good ones, but no totally perfect ones.

I had to cancel this piece....the portrait of Ripley was just too far off to justify this an addition to my collection.
