Dave, you're right. It's frustrating to see a thread like this with no pic. You should just start locking them until people get the point. I'm all for the abuse of power.

I've said it before, but it bears repeating:

If a topic has no merit, then no one will post and it will shuffle off to pages unknown. But if it starts conversation, even if that conversation veers away from the topic, in my mind, it has merit. Any opportunity for meaningful discussion should be embraced. If I just want pics, I can go to Google.

That's just my opinion of course.

I agree with this. I used to post on a Star wars board ( not RS ) where EVERY thread that had a subject that head been talked about within the last 3 years was locked. "Noobs" were totally ignored or targeted for their obvious stupidity ( sarcasim there because I didn't feel that way, but many did ) instead of being welcomed to the board.

You had to post in threads that had 150 pages and thousands of posts or bring up a topic that had NEVER been discussed like any actually exist in Star Wars anymore that have never been talked about. If you dared to post something the board mods thought was not important it would be locked within 15 min. The board "regulars" used to reply in the thread with comments like "In before the lock". It was like sitting in a high school classroom.

This was a very large community and board. I hated it so I left about a year ago and never went back.

I love tihs board and I am happy to be hear. It's one of the best boards I have ever been a member of.

AGREED! Loki and Mikey make valid points.... It is a little strange to have a picture thread with 5 pages and no pics, but as long as it has some interesting conversation... I'm happy. That's all that really matters.

I'm also beginning to feel like the "pic" threads that actually have first pics are becoming the exception rather than the rule. It is something that may need regulating.

Man for a thread about pics this was a funny ride.

I like the multiple threads because I can talk about that topic without much fear of a thread about Maul's tattoo's being jumped by someone talking about his height.

You forgot maul's small head as well. I think that multiple threads on the same topic is sometimes necessary. Sometimes threads just die and a thought about the thread can jump from one thread to another.

I'd say in the future, just name the thread by the item you want to talk about and in your postings, mention a desire for photos, then when they come in, that poster can start an image thread.

MF & Toe, you two have made very valid comments.

Once again, if I didn't made myself clear enough from the very beginning, I sincerely apologise to everyone for any disappointments.

When I posted this thread, I couldn't wait to see pics of this eagerly-awaited PF and I foolishly started a thread without thinking about the sort of reactions I would get from my fellow 'adult' collectors.

That is all I have to say.

You do know that they carried the word "social" in the name of their political party, don't you? Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, or NSDAP for short. If they really had socialist motives remains highly questionable though...
