I'm still in the middle of the third season, but so far, so good.
Not too sure about Talbot's about face regarding his intentions, but it's nice to see Dorian so uncomfortable...
The good Professor doesn't seem so inspiring though.

I loved that episode. It was such an abrupt change in pace from the rest of the season and shook it up. It gave us more detailed back story and revelations as well.

Finally caught up. I pretty much liked everything this season except for Lily and her girl power ********. I don't blame Dorian for getting tired of it.

What I don't get about Lily is that she was complaining about the suffragettes being "too loud" and then orders her women to kill a man and bring her his right hand. Judging by the number of women sitting at the table and the pile of hands, they must've killed several dozens of men. No way is that not going to alert the authorities.

I'd say it depends. London is a rather big place and it took place over the night at most. Not to mention it's not like these women are high priced escorts. They were probably banging John's in the streets or dark alleys. Plus it's Victorian times so it's not like the constables would know that there's a spree of dead men missing right hands. It would probably be a couple days before they'd even figure out what had happened.

I'm pretty disappointed with the season/series finale. Very anticlimactic.

Well, this show sure ended on a low note. The first two seasons were so slow, and they seemed to drag on forever. I thought this season was pretty good and picked things up quite a bit. Now it's over I guess. :lol

Finally watched the last 2 episodes. I was pretty disappointed that there wasn't a bigger throw down between Ethan and Dracula and that there wasn't more done with Jekyll/Hyde. Definitely a "meh" ending to the series. It was cool seeing everyone get together in the last fight though. I'm full on in favor of a Catriona Hartdegen spin-off. She was a bad-ass.

She was indeed. Has there been any word on that or is it just something you thought of?

Just wishful thinking. I hate to see the series completely die when they could spin off into something new with her. Her character seemed to have a lot more experience with the supernatural than we got to see in Penny Dreadful. A new series following her would be awesome. The other characters could do cameos here and there too.

The problem I had with the series finale was that it felt like there were way too many loose ends. Like they filmed it as a season finale as opposed to a series finale in case they were picked up again for a fourth season.

One thing that bugged me was that everything that happened with Lily was worthless this season. She could have been completely taken out of the show and it wouldn't have changed anything. Plus, the Creature's story was interesting but I wanted to see him wrecking **** with the others in the main fight. They could have had his family die from Dracula's minions or something and have the Creature want revenge. For as much as I enjoyed this season, there were a lot of missed opportunities and wasted characters.

There were some very nice, poignant moments in the finale, but yeah, I too was expecting more from Jekyll/Hyde and Frankenstein's creature to join the final fight.
I have a feeling we might get another season.
Dorian's story wasn't really concluded, Dracula is still at large, Lilly is still on the loose, as well as the creature. I think it was a good idea to get rid of Vanessa though, her character and Eva Green's over the top acting was getting a bit bothersome...
