How does it go? It goes great. A simple install onto the motherboard and very small. I'll probably get another one. Here's a photo of it and I circled it.

No, I don't do RAID. M.2 is my boot drive.
I haven't upgraded in about 4 years so I just put in an order. I already have a case and a really good power supply, so I didn't order those. Can't wait to get it. Here's a copy and paste of the parts:

Now I have a really good Dell monitor that's professional grade for photo editing and stuff. Would a 4k monitor make a big difference for gaming ?

Very nice. 4k makes a big difference in terms of resolution and you have ordered a card that can push pretty much any game to a minimum of 60 fps as long as you have a fast refresh rate. I have a EVGA GTX 1080 Ti SC2 and game at 4k and it is glorious.
You bought the same mobo as me so you should check out the M.2 drives. They're tiny, fast, and don't cost a ton. You have room for two of them on your mobo.

Just my two cents: but, I'd stay away from 4K monitors, for the simple fact that 144Hz options aren't available at 4K (or at least, I'm not aware of any). 60 Hz looks really laggy when compared to higher refresh rates.

Thanks and I haven't had any lag issues with mine. What's weird is I haven't been gaming much in the last couple months due to summer. The games I was player were Quake Champions, Quake/Q2/Q3, Overwatch, Battlefield 1, Diablo 3, and various other games.
I wanted to go with a TV for my display and after reading many reviews chose this one -

just a regular old 60hz 1920x1080 monitor
Upgraded from a 14" 1440x900 that I had for a decade mid last year ^^The monitors I was looking at are the Acer Predator XB271HK, Acer Predator XB271HU, ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q, PG27AQ, but also have the Acer Predator X34 and ASUS ROG PG348Q in sight. Sooo undecided! The monitor I am using now is the Dell U2410.
Oh and question for Pilky...I saw that you are using the Rokit 8 for speakers. I have these speakers kicking around the house but never used them for gaming. Any good ? Right now I have a Logitech 5 speaker system (don't remember the model but it was their high end a few few years ago).

Well, my Acer Predator XB271HU just came with FedEx today, and I'm very happy with the results. I absolutely won the "IPS lottery", in that my screen has zero backlight bleed. Calibration was fairly straight-forward, too, and the controls are very manageable (as opposed to what reviewers on the net have been saying).
I'd say get whichever is cheapest. I wouldn't spend $700 on either Acer's or Asus's TN monitors, though. In comparison, you can pick up the Dell Gaming S2417DG GSYNC monitor for $389 on Amazon.
IPS monitors (Acer Predator XB271HU, and the ROG Swift PG279Q) have immense benefits in color accuracy over TN monitors. But, you have to be aware of quality control issues that plague them, and there's always a chance you might get a lemon with terrible light bleeding. I was planning to get the ROG Swift PG279Q, but chose the Acer Predator XB271HU, because it was on sale for July 4th.
I think I'm leaning for either the ASUS PG348Q or Acer Predator X34.
So this build went down the crapper because of incompetent customer service. I bought all the stuff and the money was gone from my CC but they insisted that they didn't get it because security from the bank was blocking them. I called my CC company and they said that it had in fact went through and the reason they were getting blocked is because they tried 3 more times to get the money! And this is from a reputable store here in Ottawa (Canada Computers). Anyways, all is cancelled and I am buying it somewhere else but with modifications to the hardware. It is now:

Decided to finally upgrade after 8 years. Yeah yeah PC elitists like to scoff at notebooks and Alienware, but I got a pretty good deal for one considering the form factor.
