Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

Mk7,BD MK7 and Midas are all same figures so I hope NECA release MK42 or BD mK43 soon.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

My mk43 arrived.
Wow...Huge improvement over previous releases.
Neca changed from that heavier softer "action figure" plastic to a crisper harder lighter hot toys style plastic.
Details are unbelievable and crisp.Paint looks amazing.
I'm being totally honest here...I was going to add hot toys mk 43 to my collection, but I honesty have my 43 fix taken care of with this.
Incredibly shelf presence. A easy huge recommendation. WORTH EVERY CENT.
Huge hit!!!!!

Oh man, the more I hear about this figure the more excited I get. Does anybody have a side by side picture of Neca's and Hot Toy's?

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

You know I've said this before but this week really confirms it to me. This week I received this NECA Iron Man along with the jungle predator. I simply do not know how NECA can produce figures of this size this quality this detail with full light up features for the price. Again the diecast Iron Man Hot Toys Mark 43 was one of the few I didn't pick up because it was a simple repaint of the 42. But being a completist and the fact that I really did like the mostly red color better I was planning on picking up the hot toys. But with a figure this good looking with this much detail with the awesome LEDs I really have a hard time in my mind spending almost $400 on the hot toys when this NECA version totally fills my need. The Shelf presence alone is a standout and with the improvements NECA has made I gotta tell you I have decided absolutely that I'm not buying the hot toys version. Let's face it once it's on the shelf and doing its pose Duty they all look pretty damn good. But the value this toy has is pretty unbeatable

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

MK43 is my favorite suit since MK3, love the color scheme a lot, and NECA does have a great cost to quality balance you really can't go wrong with. Can't wait to see Hulk come out.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

I was just wondering about the hulk. They gonna fix those pants??? Also, is this new iron man able to stand on its own (much unlike the Mark vii could)?

Yes and no.
Its much lighter so it's better. But the main problem is the same on every NECA figure. And by the way I have this exact same problem with every 3a and three zero figure.
Every ankle joint to allow movement also means it won't support the weight of a 12 to 18 inch figure. So what I have done on every 18 inch NECA figure I own is to stiffen up the ankle joints either with future floor polish or in extreme cases actual Super Glue. The truth is having that much articulation in the ankle doesn't do squat if the joint isn't strong enough to hold the weight of a larger figure. And I also have to say that I've had the same problem with every single 8 to 10 inch Play Arts Kai figure. They all need ankle reinforcement otherwise they just shelve dive at some point
Come to think about it..my iron man Diecast mkIII has the same problem.
Yea...ankle joints stink

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

Well I was kind of on the fence about this new Mark 43 as I never got into NECA's previous Iron Man releases. But the more I see from this one, the more I really like the look of it and want to buy it.

I was just wondering about the hulk. They gonna fix those pants???

Randy confirmed at the toy fair a few months ago that the pants shown are NOT final and will be changed.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

Can't wait for my 43 to show up! Jessedart, how did you get your's so quickly?

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

Seeing how well this turned out is almost making me regret getting the HT version. Almost.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

I just can't wait for Hulk, it'll be almost a year from when we first saw him unpainted to when he ships.

Curious what change will be made to the pants, regular, torn pants, more film accurate design, or some other, pointless change.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

They made 2 1/4 Big Chaps, closed and snarled lips.

Lets see if Hulk gets a variant.

The IM I want is CW version, not AOU.

NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

I'd really like to see an updated Cap after seeing how this Iron Man turned out. The Civil War suit is awesome.

Just checked Twitter, and it sounds like Randy is definitely interested in a Civil War Cap.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

Honestly, other than someone using fabric, like Hot Toys, the Avengers Cap costume will never look good on a figure, especially as sculpt and paint. NECA's effort looks great considering the source, no doubt a WS, AOU or CW Cap would look much better.

I'm sure NECA hopes to sell another version of Hulk if this one sells well, I imagine alternate head and pants to entice buyers. I'm more than happy with this one, I don't have a single roaring Hulk piece in my collection and I'd love this to be the one.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

While overall production quality on NECA is better, I feel like this is the best high end Hulk you could buy and you get the assurance it will last, no worries of rubber or vinyl deteriorating in 10 years.

One of my concerns for sure! I look at mine from to to time, and jus think of a huge green body with two rods hanging out of it because all of the arm crumbled away.......
