Back when I lived in a 1 bedroom apartment, my closet looked like this:

My collection has grown and evolved since then, though. Now just about every closet in my house and garage is filled with empty toy boxes.
 
Been tossing around ideas for a discrete sound module for a couple of years - built a couple of prototypes I wasn't thrilled with but about a year ago I had some ideas to change things up. Long story short, the parts have mostly been sitting around for the past year and I finally decided to put together a worthy prototype after picking up a couple of last bits this week.

Remote control without line of sight, works at over 30 feet away
12 triggers, one or more sounds per trigger (short press, long press, sequential list, random list)
Single play, hold & repeat, self-repeat, background play with additional sound mixing/overlay
Length and number of Sound samples limited only by storage capacity
USB mass-storage works with any computer - load it with WAV, MP3 or OGG sound files in any bitrate, mono or stereo
Small but powerful (and loud) full-range speaker
Adjustable volume control
6-12v ACDC or Battery powered
