So just wondering anyone plan to do phicen body swap and just use rit blue to dye a body and hands for Skeletor ??? Gotta LOVE THE TOYS THAT MADE US HE MAN ORGIN'S EP. Talk about a toy CREATED out of NO WHERE to Beat the competition.

The thought had crossed my mind. Thanks for the rit blue idea though, I was trying to figure out how to color the silicone body.

Already tried Rit on the silicone bodies and it does not work. The hands do but the body just ends with a very pale dirty blue finish and that’s only when soaked for a very long time.

The only way to permanently colour a Phicen body is to use specialist silicone paints.

I am making a Skeletor to go with my He-Man so been researching this for the last year :lol

Have you tried using dye for polyester? I've used it on other things and it dyed the metal even on some clothing.
Just curious.

Sorry I should have I used both but the polyester dye had the most apparent result.
It depends on the project but it looks like a stain rather than a clean colour like on the plastic bodies.

Well unlike many others 1:6 scale figures, these look like they are going to be fun and very posable. Which is exactly what is exactly what I want from a high-end He-Man figure.

I am in the opposite with the joints. If there is one line that would benefit from seamless bodies, I think it is MOTU.

You won't have much luck raising his arm for a transformation pose with a seamless body. You can do it with a phicen sure but jury is still out in how well that rubber will hold up. If they go Leonidas or Commando type harder rubber, then posing is going to be very restrictive.

I do think the anatomy could be more realistic though on these. Still not digging his bowl cut either. He hair is more surfer and less Prince Valiant.

It looks like the elbow joint has a VERY limited range of motion. My question is why?? It’s not like the design looks significantly more seamless than a double jointed elbow would. Hasbro / Toy biz have been making double jointed hyper muscular figures for more than a decade. Should’ve look at those more closely. It’s all about a tight fit.

You can see the headsculpts for Stinkor and Mer-Man in the top left corner.

Merman comes with two heads like He-Man and Skeletor do.

They're... they're making a Mer-Man? :banana I wouldn't have expected this to behave like a full-on line with the pace they've been going. Hopefully after these two are finalized, they'll be able to expedite the process on future characters. I'd love to have more than just two.

Beast Man would be a dream, but I reckon he'd require an entirely new body.

I never said that they are but given there is a Merman head, I think it's fair to say that they are making a Merman. :)
He-Man and Skeletor do come with two heads so that just makes more sense that then ever making a very B even C list character like Stinkor.

But that is literally Stinkor. It is identical to his original designs, just no mouth piece. It makes no sense to give Mer-Man a head sculpt insanely similar in design and shape to stinkors.

Agreed. Core characters first would make the most sense. Though Stinkor was nothing more than a repainted Mer-Man head in the original line, I wouldn't have assumed skunk boy would be in the works by Mondo. Genuinely excited for this line as I always love to see these characters re-imagined but still retain their classic look. IF they can pull out all 8 original series 1 figures in 1/6 (He-Man, Skeletor, Mer-Man, Beast Man, Man-At-Arms, Teela, Stratos and Zodac) I would be one incredibly happy camper...just don't want to wait another 2 1/2 years to go by for that to happen.

It's a Merman head dude. The Merman classics figure came with two heads. One head as per the original toy the other based on the original card back artwork which was quite different and many prefer. Mondo are probably doing the same. Their own head and a classic head. Stinkor in both vintage and classics is just a repainted Merman with Mekaneck armor.

It would be amazing if Mondo went that far into the line but I honestly doubt you will ever see Stinkor. I think if we get the original 8 like you listed we are doing very well.

MOTU - no cartoons, no movies, an in frequent comic and yet it commands quite the following and high-end collectibles. Nothing to laugh at is it?! :)

Nope..not one bit! It just goes to show the stay power this property has and how it now (almost) mirrors its humble beginnings...no movie, no shows and by only the strength of the beautifully designed toys! With the possibility of a 2019 feature film by the Nee Brothers, I can only hope another resurgance in the mainstream will lead to more collectibles for years to come!

While it is exciting to see designs for other characters, it is hard to believe they will become a reality with how long the first two are taking to come to fruition.

I was super stoked when I saw the proto's for these at SDCC, but that was a year or two ago. They looked amazing, especially Skeletor's modern head sculpt. Looked badass. None of my seamless bodies can hold any sort of pose for any length of time or the silicon starts ripping. I am ok with the seams on these and even though I am all about rooted hair, I am ok with sculpted on these, as long as they look good and give the classic He-Man vibe. The two heads is an awesome way to go.

I still remember the huge tantrum I threw in K-Mart when these first hit the shelves. My Mom was adamant that I should not start a new figure line as I was heavily invested in Star Wars and Gi_joe and she even used the argument that they "were not in scale with any of my other figures".... which is one I use on myself to this very day to avoid indulging in another thing that catches my eye. I won that day (my little brother I think actually deserves the credit) and started my collection with just these two figures.

Those old figures are long gone though, so yeah, I am super excited about this line as it allows me to not break my 1/6th only rule and relive one of my favorite toy lines of my childhood. I just re-watched the entire series on Netflix and it was weird, interesting, and a bit awesome. It is odd to re-experience the writing/directing changes that the show went through over the course of its run. I was oblivious to the fact that other people were guiding my heroes when I watched it after school, but I could tell when things were weirder than "Eternian Normal" even back then.

I was in a library recently and stumbled upon a hardcover book that collects all of the mini-comics that came with the original figures. I didn't have time to check it out then but it made me really want to seek this out and re-experience that as the vibe was totally different and really cool.
