Me again
On the London toy fair they confirmed that Smaug will be in a set (similar to the dragon in the Lego Castle theme) with an addition to the laketown set with Bard's son. He smallest set will contain a Twilight version of the witch king and a red armoured Elrond.

So, something similar to this?

For now: Yes, but it might be preliminary to avoid leaks. But reports said it looked similar in size. Some further information on the summer/fall Hobbit sets:

- The Witch King Encounter seemed to be a small, surprisingly cheap set: £11.99 that had three minifigs: Elrond, Witch King and Galadriel, plus a little scenery portraying Dol Guldur.

- The Lonely Mountain set was lots of sand green and looked pretty large with lots of gold and hidden sections for more treasure and jewels. The Arkenstone was just a standard blue gem, but it might have just been a preliminary as Smaug was (he was just a castle dragon standing in!)

- The other 2 sets were more of the village and one included Dain Ironfoot, the other the Bowman's Son amongst a number of other figs, but we didn't get long enough to see who they all were.

It was totally unclear which one Smaug was a part of. They had him set up closer to Laketown though but that's not a great indication! The table was a bit of a mess.

I was hoping they would attempt the first UCS set for the LOTR/Hobbit franchise.
It seems Smaug would be a great one to start it off with.

Thanks for keeping us posted Cammo. :hi5:

No problemo
hopefully someone will sneak a camera along with at the German toy fair next week.

Picked up the Council of Elrond set at Target on clearance for $18.18 today. Couldn't pass on that price!

Hey guys, no news from the German Toy Fair but there's some hope to see at least one set at the NY Toy Fair this weekend. Here's Smaug's design:

The game also releases on April 16th.

The exclusive minifigure with the game is a little more interesting than the re-used Legolas (which can be found in the set: Escape from Mirkwood Spiders):
