Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I think we should just appreciate the figures as a whole, regardless of what they've used. The recent crop have had a lot of man hours put into them, what with painting sculpts, dyeing tuxes and suchlike. Everyone that has displayed their finished Craig has a figure they're happy with and the work that's gone into them deserves appreciation.

Agreed! I've always seen it that way. It's the passion put into these figures that should be better recognized. If it gets down to arguing whose got the best, or most accurate character, I'm afraid customizing loses its fun. Some of my favorite customs aren't up to par with the big dogs, but I still love them. If you're stressing over the details to impress others, you aren't doing it for yourself anymore. You're not doing it for the fun. As far as selling customs goes, we should expect the best looking, most accurate item for the price.

Anyway, enough of my rambling.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I think, towards the end of my full time excursions in this hobby, I lost sight of who I was pleasing. On OSW they have Kitbash of the Month, and though it's a great showcase for the work of very talented artists, you do get the odd few who strive only to get it, and there have, in the past, been a few cases of sour grapes when work hasn't even been nominated.

Hobbies should be something that you enjoy, and while it's nice that, through sharing work on these forums, you get praise and recognition for that work, I think you have to stay in the hobby to keep yourself going and not everyone else.

Striving to always the best won't get you very far, for you're only best till you're bettered

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

This thread has gotten way off topic now, I really hope these latest sentiments aren't a result of the discussion between roger and myself. I for one wasn't critiquing anyone's bashes but goods that are being sold.

You're right, this has gotten off topic. Sorry. So, is anyone in looking into a nice tux for Casino Royale? The suit I have for mine looks decent, but you can tell the quality of the material is less than stellar.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

How we doing in here? We all good?

OK, so where did we leave off? Are we still awaiting Pixel's finished Bond? Anyone else get new heads?

And most importantly, what the hell happened to inigou's CONNERY and MOORE sculpts? March is 2/3's over and nothing. I'm so impatient waiting for something, digital mock-up, anything...

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Head sculpts are still sitting here on my desk. BBKill's still needs some final work and I think I have an idea of what I want to try changing on the Inigou. As I have so many other projects on the go at the moment with higher priority (paying ones for instance), I'm hoping I can have these off to paint sometime in late April or early May. By that time I should also have the black suit for Craig.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

If you come across a TCT tux (black to dye navy for Craig) that's $30 or less will you please let me know? The one I originally bought for Craig I've decided to leave on my Connery -- it just looks too good.

I do believe that Inigiou is doing heads for WGP, Bond may be a priority to folks on this thread, but, it isn't necessarily his. When there's something to know, we'll know...

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

That still looks pretty good, I already have one and he's my fallback in case I never get round to anything else.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Very nice. Question, does the suit really have both side pockets at different heights, or is that because it's shifted/skewed a little bit in the photo?

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Great job Rahmier!

It's a shame we can't see their smile, because you can bet it's going to be a mile wide! Oh, hang on, it's that wide, the photographer couldn't get back far enough to fit it in!:clap
