Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

I know we're all thinking the same thing, SomethingSexy! But I can honestly say I would pass on any repeats except for Indy, even if it was Hot Toys.

Well, at least with this 'pause' announcement, they have thrown in talk of potentially collaborating with HT to make a proper TOD Indy and/or Mola Ram in 1/6. So it's not 'on-hold' per se...Only time will tell though.

I'm still hoping there's more on the way...We really need ROTLA Sallah and Marion at least...but Dietrich, Map-Room Indy, Ceremonial Belloq...would be welcome additions too.

TOD, we need Mola-Ram, Indy and Shorty at least. TLC, we're getting Henry Sr., but still need Indy (with tie, etc.) Vogel, Grail Knight, Donovan, Elsa...They'd be welcome additions too.

As for KOTCS, outside of Indy (which is on the way), Spalko, Mutt and Dovchenko would be cool.

At least for now we have ROTLA Indy, plus Toht and Belloq (to display with either the SS or Hasbro Ark)

Plus Henry Sr. and KOTCS Indy on the way. And at the very least, MFisher can help us put together a custom Vogel and Dietrich...and BMW has their way-cool Mola-Ram!

Let's wait and see what happens with this...at the very least, I am STOKED about the TOD PF's on the way! :rock :rock :rock

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

I can understand the fear of the "hold" comment based on the history of held lines, but I question even mentioning the muscular bodies and discussions with HT if that weren't a legitimate development. I'm sure by now SSC knows people aren't fans of their exposed figures and if they put out Mola and TOD Indy with exposed Pro bodies, especially as scrawny in build the base body is, it's going to be a poor sale, you either need HT's mucle bodies or a Wolverine/Comedian style to successfully pull those off, if done right I think they'd sell really well. I think it might be safe to conclude though, that Mola and TOD Indy would probably be it, but I think they might fight the good fight and try to get those out before throwing in the towel on the line. Base body is really the key developmental issue on those two character designs, if that can be overcome the rest should fall into place, it's not like LOTR where certain designs were really complex and beyond worth the effort based on sales.

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

That's just about my last string of hope, MaulFan. It would be awesome not just to get ToD Indy and Mola, but to also have them be on a great, newly-developed muscle body.

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

I agree here. If they pull it off and give us ToD Indy or Mola Ram, or both, then end the line, I'd be happy with that. All I want is a character represented from ToD in the 1:6 line.

I'd love to see us get all the ones you just mentioned! Sallah, Elsa, Vogel, Marion, Indy III, TOD Indy and Dietrich are at the top of my lists but I think out of that whole list only two have slight chances of being made if any.

They didn't state that the HotToys dilleo was a "legitimate development," what they said was that it basically wasn't anything more than an option tossed in the pool during discussions. So I wouldn't use that for any sort of foundation for a "glass half full" argument other than it was brought up. Additionally, the line will be "paused" after Henry Sr. I don't see why they wouldn't pause it after KOTCS Indy who we were all expecting to be on the Pro anyway, so that's yet another clue that supports the "glass half empty" argument. But feel free to put the CEO on the spot in SDCC's chat next year, after we haven't seen a release in as many months, to get your definitive answer. :lol

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

Hot Toys does great work, I think if anyone gets it, they will. I could see them making a muscle body for TOD Indy that is in scale (I mean not like say RAMBO size).

I do hope the 1/6 line keeps going and I hope that they start making better choices for the figures. Mola Ram is such simple math: BECAUSE WE WILL ALL BUY IT.

Otherwise, it is time for bashing to finish out what we don't have. The extra head (hatless head) on the ROTLA Indy makes for a good TOD Indy head in a pinch ...

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

Thanks ... here is a full pic. Joe Strain made a TOD whip (meaning red in color with the proper style handle).

True but remember they did work with Hot Toys for those Hell Boy figures and also for the Hobbit bodies so while it's probably just an idea right now there is hope based on past experience that if they went to Hot Toys there is a chance something would be worked out.

Plus, they can still use one of those Hobbit bodies for a Short Round figure! :rock

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

All I can say is this means Sideshow won't be getting much of my money since I have cut back on everything but the Indy line. The Indy line is my only have to have

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

It's pretty telling when they have to approach another (superior) company and ask them for help to engineer their stuff. They should have foreseen these limitations/issues at the time they were developing the (modular) Pro body. Sideshow needs to s*** or get off the pot and leave 1:6 to the professionals in the industry who know what they are doing.

Yes, they haven't said they're in development with Hot Toys to do it, but what I was getting at is why even mention their name, if there wasn't something actually happening it would have been enough to use vague, in development comments, but calling out specifically the body issue and mentioning the idea of talking to HT about the body seems more promising than the usual hints. When they say it's over without saying it's over, they're usually more vague than this statement.

I think the line is just about done and all we'll get at this point could be TOD Indy and or Mola Ram if they work out the body issues.
