Well said Rook but I disagree. Why should you have to justify what you think to some random person on the internet?
People never say "I love the statue because....", they just say "IT ROCKS!!!!". Jlc doesn't ask them for an explantion as to why, and noone "makes" him explain why he thinks it rocks so much, so saying "IT ROCKS" is just as "stupid" as saying IT SUCKS, unless ofcourse you provide a reason.
"Because its just so damn cool" isn't one, unless "Because it's so damn lame" is one.

HE, with all due respect, you just argued my point for me. You simply did it from the other direction. Everything you just said was a reiteration of my previous post. You simply stated it all again from the perspective of someone who "likes" the object in question, as opposed to the perspective of someone who thinks it "sucks."

Put simply, if you want to discuss the pros and cons of anything, then that is what these forums are for: Discussion, debate, and (friendly) argument. If, however, all you're interested in is a simple opinion (your own or someone else's), then I invite you to visit the "Polls" forum. That's what it's there for.

(Again, I am using the general "you." No pointing fingers here, amigos.)

I totally agree Rook 110%. Thats about the best way of putting it. If someone that doesnt like it would like me to state a reason or reasons why I like something not a problem. I will do that but I would like personally when someone says it sucks to give more than that. Not that I'm demanding that but I would like to know what about it sucks to gain a better idea of why they think the piece is not very good.

i told everyone why the RWoS sucks, i gave SPECIFIC reasons, and i'm still an @#%$ for it, and my opinion was not respected, cause AK-247 didn't agree...

you guys are a bunch of hypocrites at times...

Where did that come from? Non sequitor, anyone? And when did this thread change topics to Diesel's opinion of the RWOS? I thought we were talking about Josh and FrodoEyes getting banned from LOTRG.

I've gone over all of the previous posts in this thread and, for the life of me, I can't find a hint of hypocrisy. To the best of my knowledge, everyone here is standing by the words that they've posted in the past. I said in my posts that I was merely discussing and issue, and using a general "you" which didn't apply to any specific board member(s). I was sincere about that.

I like to debate. ("Really, Rook? :rolleyes Wow, we didn't know!" ) But debating loses its appeal to me if someone starts to take it personally. And it gets really foul when that person starts bringing unrelated issues into the discussion and then becomes openly caustic and hostile.

If you guys want to discuss this kind of thing in a nice, quiet, friendly manner, I'm in. I'm all over it like hair on a gorilla.

But if it's gonna degenerate into a mud-flinging session, I have better places to spend my time.

Exactly, Rook. This thread was started for complaining about another board (which goes on all the time on this forum), not for Diesel to start piping on about RWOS AGAIN. Why he decided to chime in and change what we were talking about I don't know, he must have alot of spare time on his hands, judging by the number of his posts.

As for discussion on something, it's all about each persons characteristics. Personally if someone hates something so much I like to ask why as I'm interested in their opinion and to maybe make myself see why it may not be a perfect statue, likewise I like people to say why they like something rather than "it just rocks!!" which IS just as bad as saying it sucks. Bt if someone does just want to post all the time then that's fine, it brings a bit of fun to the forums.

Anyway, I'm still banned

Well, Rook I hope you mean your done in this thread and not the board.. Some people just don't get it. Debate us fine but if done in an adult manner we have several members now that all they wanna do is spit out vile for lack of a better word about anything that us fanboy members like I very rarely hear these members say they like anything or if you talk about why you like it and say well I disagree your labeled a fanboy etc.

Dave...if you're listening...I can't understand why this guy is still on here. True, he and I have had some cordial discussion in the past, but I've turned a blind eye to his caustic and inflammatory remarks toward other members. (DarkSyren, Josh, etc.) But lately, it's getting out of hand. Name-calling is now a regular thing for him. And, often enough, his overtones are threatening. His remarks are derogatory, disruptive and rude.

Your attitude is sophomoric at best, Diesel. Grow the hell up. You call us hypocrites? For one who goes to such lengths to berate the "fanboys" among us, you certainly are on a meteoric rise toward the highest post count here.

Pay attention: You are not bright. You are not witty. Your "arguments" are anything but. Your sentences are mostly fragments, and your "thoughts" are half-formed, with nothing to back them up but the brutish nature with which you applied them.

It never starts with me! Its always someone who says something sucks as I've said without any ammo. Its like Rook said if your gonna say something sucks have the ammo to back it up if not be prepared to get called on it. I've never come right out and flamed someone! I've never come out and said your a total @#%$ moron for not liking someting. I might say why don't you like it and give why I do as background info of some kind. I have never come out and said someone is wrong for not liking someting.
