1. TARKIN.

I did consider the Death Troopers, but they play such an underwhelming role in the film that I would be buying them for mere design alone. Upon seeing the film, one realises that none of the new Troopers distinguish themselves. Indeed, they could be replaced with basic OT Troops and it would make no difference at all. Although I love the design, it seems like a mere marketing variation.

And the film, as terrific as it is, thwarts any real logic as to its differentiated troopers. If Jedha is the primary source of kyber crystal, which powers the Empire's greatest weapon, surely the place would be crawling with elite Death Troopers to defend it rather than bog standard Troops who can't hit the broad side of a barn (particularly if local rebel insurgents are raiding at regular intervals). The same applies perhaps even more to Scarif, where the Death Star plans are held. But, no, the Death Troopers effectively function as mere bodyguards.

im a little surprised the market is what it is for all these johnny come lately characters.....its all a bit soulless to me. my collection habits are based on things that harken to my youth. none of these characters are collection worthy for me.

... because I thought it was perfect and worth a in depth collection. Best stars film ever for me. Empire is now in 2ND place. Never thought... but yea wow!

Yeh, zero for me too. Rising prices, a tanking dollar and growing kids have killed my collecting.

Pretty much in the same boat... Have to limit myself to 3-4 figures per year. And can't see myself going back to Hasbro or Figuarts... Only consider K2SO from RO since he's an important character, with an amazing design and is pretty cheap considering today's prices.

For me this year will be Snowspeeder Luke, McCoy from QMX, K2SO, and maybe Tarkin if he gets done (to complete my ANH setup).

I got the feeling that they were specifically Krennic's "boys". They were only present with him and only took orders from him.

I loved the movie but my hype for the Rogue One heroes has all but died out. Really only interested in the Empire now.

Definite:
Vader (holy sh** I LOVED his scenes; absolutely need this ASAP)
Tarkin (please HT I'm begging you, as seeing him again on screen was magical; also need ASAP)
Krennic (Read the novel and really enjoyed his character and the role he played)
Jyn (Either the regular version or the TIE Pilot gear; the DX isn't worth it to me anymore)

Maybe:
K-2SO (hilarious character and I have time to wait on this, so I'll prob keep him; and he looks great next to Pilot Jyn)
Chirrut Imwe (Had a few good scenes, but didn't like the way he went out; should've fought someone instead)
Death Trooper (They have an awesome design, but it's a trooper; I'll prob wait for a sale)
Wine Rack Trooper (I really like the look and it reminds me of ANH and Battlefront; will wait for a sale)
Royal Guards (These need to be made to complete the Empire look, but not holding my breath)

Nope:
Cassian (was a really meh character and I tolerated him the whole time)
Baze (was better than Cassian, but still eh)
Saw (cool outfit design, but eh character)
Shore Troopers (Cool design but very low on my priority list, so likely no)

In all, I'm really excited for the Rogue One line. I think I enjoyed this movie more than TFA. Jyn is much more relatable than Rey. And I almost see this and ANH as one movie now. It connects so seamlessly. Rogue One really fleshed out the Empire side of things, which was always the most interesting aspect of the films for me anyway.

I really liked this movie, and it almost took me back to the time when I saw ANH (In a drive-in theater, no less) at 7 years old! Being a very loyal Imperial supporter, I'm seriously considering a few of these Rebels. I'd go for the obvious in:
- Jyn, but only if in Imperial disguise,
- Chirrut,
- K-2SO.
On the fence with Andor & Baze. No interest in Saw.

Like everyone else, I'm hopeful for a Tarkin, want a Krennic (so I can justify getting the Death Troopers--who am I kidding, I'll get the Deluxe for sure) I already have 8 Stormtroopers/Sandtroopers so no need for the Jedha honestly, and undecided on the Shoretrooper. Definitely in for the Death Star Trooper, and Gunner if made.

Already pre-ordered Vader and SSC Rogue One TIE Pilot

I will concede, I walked out of the theatre saying to myself "I want figures".

Jyn Deluxe - Pretty definite. The Eadu scene is great.

K2SO - Good chance. I do find him slightly creepy in appearance, the whole skull vibe going on. The lighted "eyes" gives him character as they move. With fixed eyes he might be a bit too ominous. But with the group, he would look good.

Cassian - Strangely liked him, if he has a good swath of accessories, I could see myself going for it. I really liked the Hoth inspired blue coat. Jyn, K2, and Cassian would be a really cool shelf, I do very much like that idea.

The three above benefit greatly from group theory, in that they will look well enough alone, but spectacular together.

Death Trooper - Hard maybe leaning to no after seeing the movie. Perhaps if they get some dope trooper discounts.

Chirrut - I liked his character sure, and I even am in the camp that he fit in the movie naturally, I just don't think he flows statically in a visual sense. It's all about the motion for his character. So he'll be a pass.

Baze - I actually liked him a bunch, but see no need for him.

Krennic - Completely unknown. I always like adding a bad guy to the shelf, but don't feel compelled to get him. A wild card like an alternative yelling/commanding sculpt and pointed fingers might sway that.

Tarkin - since he's hotly requested - yes, he needs to be made. Would I buy? Probably not. What would be cool would be to have him closer to the glass on your shelf to appear as if he's "looking out" into space from a command deck, as it seems he is always portrayed.

Vader - maybe one day. I've never felt compelled to buy one honestly. Even with the Black Series price point I bought one more on principle of having a Vader than out of excitement. And before someone asks, yes, I loved that part in that one scene - absolutely gripping.
