1/6 Hot Toys Speculation Thread - Avengers 4

That's what I thought, I definitely want this Thor and am now glad I didn't order the IW version.

Mjolnir and Stormbreaker!!! And then Cap and Mjolnir!!! I wonder what Cap's second accessory will be, unless it's 2 types of Mjolnirs but I doubt it, I'm hoping for the gauntlet he was running with. But it could be the scepter from Loki too. Anything else?

Put my preorders in for Cap and Iron Man. They will be THE versions of the characters and should def have their "extra" accessories. Can't wait. I'm down for Thor (he was awesome) and then I'm probably good. They are the big 3 for sure and will epitomize the MCU for me in my collection. So glad I waited until the end of this Infinity Storyline to buy versions of these characters. I knew I'd regret it and need these Endgame versions if I went and got Civil War Cap or Avengers 1 IM. I only want 1 of each in my collection, and these are it.

I preordered the Mark 85 as soon as I got home. Glad Timewalker still had stock left, $410, no shipping, no tax.

I don't have any other Cap or Thors yet, but I agree they're going to be definitive versions, I love Fat Thor lol. In the last act it wasn't super apparent how huge he was, so I think they'll be able to do him well. I just know the sculpted crazy beard is going to be very annoying to pose but who cares. I may get Pepper in that suit too, I really liked it for some reason. I almost got tempted to grab the old set at BBTS.

Also wtf is up with War Machine, did he use the Mark 6 for like a minute in this film and that's what HT put up for preorder? Why did they even develop that one? I think it's kind of funny I don't think they've shown Rhodey unhelmeted versus just having the visor flipped at all in an armor, and then for half this movie that's how he is. HT should sculpt a full head for the Mk 4!

Yeah I went back and watched that scene on YouTube and you can't tell at all that he put on weight. He's a little thicker, but with his armor on, not noticeable. He just has the long hair and thick beard, but he is unbelievably awesome in that scene. I'm def going to get this Thor and I'm also glad I passed on IW Thor. My guess is they will both come with Mjolnir. Cap really made use of it and owned Thanos. But I wouldn't be upset if Thor gets Mjolnir and Stormbreaker, and then Cap gets the gauntlet and the scepter. I'm getting both anyways, so it's no big deal for me. I'll have all the weapons lol. IM with his gauntlet, Cap with Mjolnir and his shield, and Thor in the back screaming with Stormbreaker (maybe with lighting effect parts) will be an awesome display!

I missed out on Mark 85 from Timewalker, so I ordered on SSC for the payment plan. Oh well. Hopefully they send me a coupon and I'll use it on Cap (switch my order from BBTS) or save it for Thor.

Doesn't he slim down a bit when he powers up? Maybe they work that angle lol. Lebowski Thor was great, but in battle I'd prefer he weren't so fat. It was hard to tell as the fight was happening but I thought he lost some beer belly. Could be wrong.

Seems to be quite a few people who liked this iteration of Thor, but I just couldn’t stand him through a lot of the film. I just found him to be a sad case, and even in the third act fight scene I found his abilities somewhat lacklustre. Imo he looks like he’s completely depowered in comparison to how he was in Thor 3 and IW. Other than the gut, I really disliked how messy he looked. Almost like a wet dog kind of look.

Cap was far more effective with the hammer than Thor was, which is cool and all for Cap, but plain ridiculous for Thor imo.

I now know that BW dies in this one and it appears to be permanent. So along with the death of Iron Man - again thank you spoilers! HT just lost 2 cash cows in 1 final movie. I think more than likely HT will do the IM2 BW 2.0 and the prequel BW.. while churning out more IM from the Iron Legion and Iron Legion II. *sigh*

Ok, enough with the spoiler tags, not only is the movie out but this whole thread is basically a spoiler.

I wanted to say that if HT’s doesn’t make AT LEAST a Professor Hulk (and sure he can be wearing an Avengers suit but they need to offer a pair of jeans, button up shirt and glasses to change into) or the “Big Thorbowski”, it will prove definitively that they are absolutely out of touch with the western collectors.

As some have mentioned, yeah, it was difficult to see how fat Thor really was at the end and the beard sculpt will make posing a PITA, but now that I’ve been seeing that IW Thor is going for 500-600USD on eBay, there is an obvious demand.

Also, who doesn’t really want to pose plain clothes Professor Hulk taking a selfie with a bunch of other figures? This iteration of Hulk was the most imaginative the movies have portrayed him so far.

I absolutely expect another WM, Rescue, another Mk. 85 and/of accessory set but all those armors will sell in the Eastern and Western Hemispheres.

Short haired CM with gold shoulder pads would be dumb, and so would a new Ant-Man with just an EG base (but if they do just one “Avengers Quantum Realm” suit, Ant-Man would make the most sense. I definitely do not see the need for the whole team unless they do IM and BW since well, you know!

I just saw the movie. I feel IW was better at keeping the tension and was more exciting. Part of me also actually likes the fake leaks that came out better than how some of the events turned out. Prof Hulk feels like a joke to me. :/

The best hulk was the first avenger hulk..followed by AOU Hulk. After that he went down hill and I honestly don’t know why MCU decided to make him like that and down play Thor and other characters...kinda hate the power manipulation they do from movie to movie :/

The best hulk was the first avenger hulk..followed by AOU Hulk. After that he went down hill and I honestly don’t know why MCU decided to make him like that and down play Thor and other characters...kinda hate the power manipulation they do from movie to movie :/

After thinking about the movie and stewing a bit more on it, I think I want my money back. Lol! It's not a bad movie but it just doesn't live up to the general hype and personally, my expectation. I could go on a spoiler rant here and also pick from the fake spoilers what may make it better for me but what's the point... Professor Hulk had one good moment and that was it. It's a ****ing joke.

They tried to give each original Avenger a big moment or two. Steve and Tony's were the best. Maybe Thor's as well.

Black Widow's big moment: meh...

Hawkeye's big moment: when his family was snapped away (it's not a spoiler. We know it happened). The rest of the movie... he was of some use but he might as well have been snapped away too.

As for Carol, the Russos saying they had written a way to explain how she won't take the spotlight, they could have done way better.

Real reason she was gone the 1st time: to get gold shoulder pads.

Real reason she was gone the 2nd time: to go to the far reaches of the universe to get a ****ing haircut.

Yeah, I actually really liked that ending for Cap more than I thought I would. In hindsight, I think it was better that Stark die, and Cap be the one to retire. Stark could really never retire as IM, because he’d always be a marked man. Cap was able to be the one to retire by giving him the ability to go back and live the life he was supposed to. Having them both die I think would have been a bit much. It had to be one or the other. I actually like that sort of passing of the mantle as well to the next CA, with Steve Rogers actually choosing his successor, rather than him dying and someone takes it upon themselves to fill his shoes. It feels more earned when it’s passed on by the true Cap.

Only thing I would have MAYBE done differently was have Steve actually meet Peggy at the Stork Club for their dance, as opposed to showing them in their house. Her sitting in the club, thinking he won’t show, and then he walks in to her surprise and she says her classic line of “You’re late.” To which he responds with something along the lines of, “Was busy saving the world.” To her, she’d presume he was referring to the events of TFA with taking down Schmidt’s ship, but the audience of course would know what he meant.
