When it comes to designs I do agree. And for me that?s probably the most important too... that?s why the PT and ST only have one shelf each in my collection and the OT and R1 have 12 [emoji51] ...Both PT and ST have some good designs here and there though. Just not consistent like the OT.

The OT had sublime talent like McQuarrie, Tippett and Joe Johnston. The people designing the PT and ST were decent enough but just not in the same league. There were a few designs in TROS that I thought looked decent but by and large the creatures and vehicles in particular in the ST have been really weak.

Rogue One had some great stuff but that was far easier being set in the same week as ANH.

I?m not as negative as you are, but I do think that the newer designs in PT and ST lack the simplicity of the OT design.
That said in my opinion there are several great things in the ST. For instance I really like Reys speeder and the resistance bombers and their crew.

I swear I was just about to post something similar about being the only person who loved L3. I can't explain why, but she really worked for me. Everything, from her voice, her attitude, her personality. I thought she was great.

ETA: I hate Jar Jar.

I actually really like her design, and I like her feisty personality. What I don?t care for is the absurd polotics, and that it was suggested that Lando gives ?it? to her, that is totally over the line for a SW movie.

Yep, that?s all I have taken from the PT and the ST, some cool designs, and a handful of neat concepts.

For me SW canon is the following:

Rogue One
A New Hope
Animated sequence from the holiday special
Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi

Human psychology and sociology is rooted in identity and community through societal pressures and norms. Both American parties rely on it heavily to the point of derision and partisanship. It?s all by design and intentional. You don?t even have to look there, it?s in sports too.

Yeah I have to agree, I think you can make an argument for the ST but I don't see it at all in those 2.

Dunno about Mando - which didn't to me at least - but RO (and Solo) had a decent dose of identity politics, though not to the degree that the ST had.

It's difficult to discuss on here without tripping up issues though because it gets into squirm-inducing issues of gender, race, sexuality, ethnicity, etc If you can't see it in those movies, then that's great to have that mindset but to me it was pretty overt and obvious in some aspects.

One of the reasons I am so pleased I invested so much time and consideration into all the graphic novels, comics and novels that have gone before.

Some I loved and some I hated.
For every Tholme, T'ra Saa and Darth Talon, there was Yuuzhan Vong, or Chewbacca getting killed by a Meteor.

Star Wars is the OT. Everything else is based off that majestic platform of storytelling. Some are good, and some are terrible, and it is all conjecture.

In regards to the films I think the PT has it's moments, and lead to the excellent Clone Wars series. Rogue One was great, Solo is a fun, almost Graphic Novel type entry, and I am really enjoying The Mandalorian.

The ST just doesn't connect for me in any way, shape or form. A mess of storytelling, character building and force powers. It is very bad Expanded Universe for me. I have watched bits of Rebels so cannot form a full conclusion. Resistance cartoon looks terrible, so I am swerving that.

Yep the underlying fact that I just cannot get over is that KK went into a trilogy of the largest franchise on the planet with no overarching plan.

Its unfathomable and for me is the bottom line why the ST fails.

It's so basic and infuriating.

But anyway moving on, any other Mudtrooper videos up yet ? Really want to get a better look at him !

Star Wars is the biggest merchandising juggernaut on the planet, especially at 3.75 scale. Somehow that has ground to almost nothing in stores, on the back of a 'new Skywalker' trilogy. Tells you everything you need to know about those films.

I'm also looking for any video reviews on this guy in the hope someone has been working on it over the weekend. However I guess most reviewers outside of HK will only get it Monday or Tuesday perhaps....

It seems the guy with the kids only has the Solo figure, and he hasn't put up a new more detailed video (without kids) as mentioned yet.

I have been a SW fan since I saw A New Hope at a drive-in theater on opening weekend in 1977 when I was 4 years old. And until very recently the Empire was always portrayed as space Nazis. And as SW fans we?re all fully aware, the Empire only had white men, with (mostly) English accents, which portrays them as racist, sexist, xenophobes. All of that does an excellent job of teaching the audience that the Empire is evil.

Fast forward to the Mandalorian. We see Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon, which makes no sense, regardless of how good an actor he is, he is miscast as an Imperial Officer. It?s like seeing a Jewish officer in the Nazi military, or a black woman as a leader in the KKK. It?s just inconceivable and makes you scratch your head and do a double-take. What?s next, will there be aliens and females in the Empire next? It just makes the empire appear kinder and gentler, and thus less evil. It?s clearly retconning SW, and I don?t like it. I enjoyed seeing Carl Weathers as the leader of a bounty hunter guild, we?ve never seen anything to contradict that casting decision, and I?ve enjoyed Weather?s performance in everything I?ve seen him in, so I?m totally happy with that, but the further you get away from having a smug white old Englishman as an imperial officer the further you get away from the original intent of what the Empire is and the evil they represent.

The decision to make a more diverse Empire, reveals a complete lack of understanding of the dynamics of SW, and betrays the Kathleen Kenedy, and Lucasfilm Story-group?s agenda of identity politics. Other than maybe Pablo Hidalgo, they don?t understand anything about SW.

That?s all I?m saying. And no matter what side of the political spectrum you are on, if you are a SW fan you?ll likely pick up what I?m laying down.

I?m not married to my opinions though, so if any of you have a logical counter viewpoint, I?m sincerely interested in hearing your explanation. As a lifelong SW fan I?m very interested to see the new stuff in a way that makes logical sense to me so that I could enjoy it more.
