Got Luke today. All I’ve done so far was multiple washing and rinses of the cloak. TONS of dye came out. More than my Obi Wans or Anakin. Took 4 washings and rinses for the water to run clear. Hopefully when it’s dry it should be safe. The process didn’t affect Obi or Anakin and hopefully the same here. It just seems that HT doesn’t bother washing the excess dye out to finish the dying process and it should be fine and look the same once dry like the others. I’ll know tomorrow.
reminds me OT the old tye dyed T shirts process from the 80’s...

You just washing with water and letting it dry or anything else? Let us know how it turns out.

Got Luke a bit earlier than expected. Really happy with it. So many options it’s hard to decide what to choose.

He’s not as wide in person but I removed the mid section of the fat suit anyway. Here are some comparison shots.

Might have to remove the shoulder pads too cause it seems to make the neck too short. More futzing in order.

Finally opened my Luke yesterday and put him beside custom painted SS Luke....

I like SS Luke’s tunic better but everything else is bad. He is so huge. All of a sudden my favorite figure looked like a Hasbro toy. Also The SS lightsaber hilt is bigger and longer than the HT.

Gave SS Luke to my son.

Finally got mine in Looks much better in person

I got mine today, messed around with him a little.

My initial thoughts:
-The material for the outfit looks better in person
- the chest flap looks a little too big and kinda sloppy looking, especially compared to the proto pics of the Sideshow Luke. He’s also a bit puffy, like others have said, in the midsection
- I wasn’t that worried about having a non-lit gloved hand for the saber, but now I really wish it came with one
-the robe (this is my first figure with a robe) is really soft! I wish they’d have used this material on the Christopher Reeve and MOS Superman capes
-the sculpt looks great but I hope the (hopefully) upcoming accessory pack has a new hair piece


This kinda sounds like I don’t like it, but overall he really is pretty great. I can see how people are having a hard time deciding on how to display him, since he looks really good in all the configurations.

I actually use a little,bucket as a wash tub and use some laundry detergent. Small amount of he detergent with no perfumes or dyes and put cold water in and agitate pretty well by had a minute or two and then rinse it under running water. Again colder water. Did it four times and the fifth time I just use clear water and it was still mostly clear after swishing. The fifth was my test.
Fingers crossed but it should be fine...

How much did you cut off of the midsection? That looks great. If you had a pic can you post it?

The gloved hand on the figure is attached to the hilt with an LED light. The gloved hand on the other arm is a closed fist.

I didn’t take a pic of the undersuit after I cut it but here is the left over.

I cut straight around the waist just above the belt line and cut under the arms so there was still enough to stay on and together. The pic shows the large crease stitch line that runs up the back and I cut it straight up the front to remove it. So I cut it high in the back and low under the arms and front because the suit has a low neckline.

Just to add on the other robe post....since I got two I figured I'm only using the robe on one so I can experiment with the other.

Same thing...used mildly warm water and a small drop of detergent, gently moved it around by hand. The same amount of dye that came out of the Anakin Ep 3 robe came out of my Luke as well. So for anyone who was concerned about the Ani staining, is say def rinse your Luke robe as well.
