Yeah, if cash is that tight, think it's time to re-prioritize one's endeavors.

I think maybe the credit card is maxed out because of Christmas, New Years Eve and Valentines Day.:)

On a side note.

I don't use credit cards. I believe they were created just to encourage uncontrolled spending. It is one of the reasons I think I am able to keep a tight hold on my collecting and only buy what fits into my budget instead of "hey lets get that and then pay for it later because we can."

You know people who complain about after Christmas debt. I never have that. Plan ahead and live within your means. Collect within your means as well otherwise you will end up selling pieces you really care about to pay for crap like credit card bills etc. or other pieces you want.

Be mindful of what you want and how you go about getting it.

Too much logic for one post, so no responses. Most people don't do this and will try and figure out a way to tell you how it's not smart.

It's a Dollie forum, not a credit counseling site. I personally laugh at ppl that think CC's are the devil or something.

Idiots should never have CC's. But then again, banks live of said idiots.

If you know how to use them to your advantage, you'll never pay a cent in interests.

I've know of people getting payday loans for their dolls, it's insane.

Hey, this hobby is getting more expensive! Even a lot of newer and smaller companies jumping into 1/6 are charging Hot Toy prices.

I saved about $80 from a Lowe's granite counter installation by signing up for their credit card last week. I'll pay it off in full immediately, and not use it again unless I have another big expense from Lowe's where the discount is significant. We also have a Disney credit card that we've obtained over $1,000 on already, that we can use for a Disney trip. But again, we pay that bad boy off in full like clockwork to avoid interest.

So beyond not paying interest, you can actually profit from the promotions/cash back on some of these. But you can't be doing installment plans and living beyond your means. If you can't afford something, you shouldn't buy of course (goes also for house mortgages, cars, pricey private colleges, etc.), though few people live by this philosophy.

I use my CC just for security in case somebody gets hacked. I have a yearly toy budget and I stick to it. If people can't live within their means then they need to sort out their priorities or at some point reality will smack them at some point.

That is insane :slap

I know people who do the same thing, every year with every iPhone release. I don't get shocked at people who spend too much on anything that can be considered more of a luxury than a necessity, but I do when people use money they don't have to get them while they could settle for something they can afford.

Even when I have the cash to buy something pricey I sometimes use my credit card, then pay the amount I purchased through it at the bank right away. Can't miss the points -- I get to do my groceries free with those points every now and then :lol Like Franpincho said, If you know how to use them to your advantage, you'll never pay a cent in interests. I'll add that you can even get something from them.

Yeah, that's true -- and personally I know I can't keep up with the higher prices so I just buy less, became more selective, or sell old ones to fund a new one I fancy.

Soooo....how about that Batman figure ? :)

New cape, New stand, rebreather faceplate. New box. 3000 units worldwide. Comes out Quarter 4 of this year. Waitlisted. People getting conversions, maybe from people that do not have the cash to cover the NRD. Everything's been discussed.

Personally I find some of the off-topic discussions enlightening and insightful.
