I have no problem whatsoever with the HT stock sculpt. I like the paint app on JL a lot.

But I mean, if HT decided to update the head sculpt for black suit with a new version that’d be awesome. They really should.

What?s wrong with the way the hair is sculpted? I?m not defending the sculpt just curious to hear your thoughts.

I think there?s not enough volume at the top maybe with too much on the sides and the exposed hairline at the right side (looking at the pic) is a little too far back. Or maybe the top is fine but too much on the sides. To me, it looks a little like someone who?s losing their hair on the top yet letting the sides grow to compensate if that makes sense?

Just had this delivered. Production wise I'd say it's on par with a HT head. The materials feel the same, the eyes are nice and glossy. I'd say it's maybe about 1mm or so shorter than the original but it's definitely wider and the skin tone is indeed a bit paler. My biggest gripe is the neck peg adapter is too wide for the socket in the head so it won't go all the way in (as you can see it sticks out at the bottom) so it sits too high on the neck. Bit of filing can fix that though.

That's the BvS head by the way.

I'm sure it can. I think maybe the head shrunk slightly and now it's ever so slightly too small for the adapter to go in all the way, after a certain point it's just too tight to go any further....I always have that problem

Anyway, those photos make the sculpt look better and has more likeness.

The head socket doesn?t fit on Mine my opinion it?s not painted as good as HT it?s a bit crap really although the likeness of the OSK is a little better.
The skin tone on the OKS head doesn?t match the neck of the HT?s superman either.
I have taken photos in the different light settings so you can get a feel for it a bit disappointed but I might get it repainted.

Sigh... did they not check if the skin tone matched with either versions and if it can peg properly? The likeness is good but it looks garbage as it doesn't match the neck's color.

Looks equal to most older Hot Toys sculpts. I like it, especially considering it cost me $35. The paint might not be superior but the likeness is vastly better than the Modern Life sculpt that they want to charge $300 for.

The color is hardly that different, nothing to be dramatic over. Doubt it'll be that noticeable to me on the shelf.

Plus viewing a macro photography version on a 32" monitor is going to show up its flaws a lot more.

Well, if someone wants to part with their miserable 1st batch OSK Cavill, I'll gladly buy it. lol

I think its fine. Some of those pics looks like its taken with a flash which always washes out and and drastically contrast colors.
Virtual Devil made a video and it looks fine here.
I dont understand french, but he mentions Prime 1, so I'm not sure if he's saying it looks like the 1/3 Prime 1 JL Superman, or it is a recast and shrunken down Prime 1 head which I suspected.
I stupidly passed on that 1/3 Prime1, so Ive watched many review videos so Im familiar with the headsculpt. To me, It appears that the OSK head is based off that Prime 1 head.
My only critique on that OSK head is, since I think its a recast and shrunken down head, the details on the head are much softer that the stock head.

Yeah, I appreciate the pics, but it's worth remembering that they are 20x larger than the actual head. It's not perfect. To me the eye areas need the most work, but something tells me from a few feet away, this will look lovely.

Watching Keyboard Warriors review of the OSK sculpt and it looks good to me. They even manage to get the head to fit lower on the neck.

OSK has the better sculpt. Hot Toys has the better paint.
But the perfect Cavill has yet to come...
