Some fun with MIV w/camera phone!

Still lovin' my Mk IV despite the flaw on his head.
I forgot that I had this scratch remover/polisher stuff that I'd gotten for my ipod. It got the long scuff mostly off, but it made the round spot a little more noticeable. Oh well, I can still live with it if my request to Hot Toys falls through.
Anyway, here're some more pics, just for funsies.

Thanks, Firebird, but just wait until I get the Mk VI and what I have in mind for that. You haven't seen anything yet.

In the auto-bodyshop industry, this is called a paint transfer.
A decent wax can remove a paint transfer with a fair amount of rubbing.

Now, the scuff mark certainly looks like paint transfer, again, probably from whatever was rubbing the top of it's head (i.e. the shelf above).

But that circular mark looks like it is actually worn down through the plastic. You can see the same whitish-colored paint transfer around the edges, but the very center of the circle is the color of the plastic underneath the paint.

Jedah, if you run your finger lightly across the top of the circular mark, does it feel as if this area has been flattened down compared to the surrounding surfaces?

That's what I suspected. Woo hoo! :lol

I'm almost positive that circular mark is a flat spot, that is, it's worn down.

Wow, thank you everyone for commenting on my pics. It flatters me. I'm just glad that this forum is here so that I can share. I don't have what one would call a social life, so you all are the only ones that get to see it that would enjoy it.

And of course I don't mind if anyone wants to steal pose ideas. I actually stole my Mk IV's pose from one of the promo pics on page 1. People in the War Machine thread love his pose too. His pose that I'm going to have him in is integral for the wow factor for what I have in store for my MK VI (I'm planning something that I haven't seen anyone else do yet)....

Yeah, I hear you bud. The family are content at the figure collecting and other friends just don't 'get' what your collecting addiction is about.:lol
:hi5:

Yeah, the family doesn't care one way or the other. My sister does think some of it's kinda cool, but she only visits about once a year (she lives in Oregon). I work nights, so I really don't hang out with the few friends that I have... at all really. It's really difficult to have a social life when you have a mild social anxiety and you work a messed up schedule.

My few friends do think the collection is cool, but like I said; I rarely see them. When I do, it's usually me going out to meet them. So, they don't come over anyway.

I work in a hotel so I'm working 3/4 late nights a week. It's always fun posting on here at 3/4am in the morning:sleep

While I don't think action figures fill the void of a social life, I believe they can and do help to make one feel more content.

I am fortunate to have a job that allows for socialising etc but I confess to always being made happy when I come back in after a night out and being around my 'stuff'!

On my days off I wake up at about 1-2 am and that's what I do; jump on the forum (might watch a little Tv first). Right now I just got home from work.... yay.

...

Yeah, definitely doesn't fill it at all. We humans are social creatures by design. Even people like me who detest most social settings still crave interaction. I may be miserable and depressed most of the time :(, but I find that I'm never quite as happy as when I'm expecting a new piece to the collection... like right now with my Mk VI due to arrive tomorrow (how many times have I mentioned that fact now? I've lost count).

Same here. It's good socialising at the hotel with work colleagues and guests but nothing beats coming home to the figures. Their always at the back of my mind.:rotfl

I couldn't work nights like that. Fair play to you.

I go snowboarding quite a bit and I find myself going through my phone pics!
Now how sad is that??! :D

Phone pics of your collection? While snowboarding...
