V,

you never fail to impress.

That plane, the picture of that plane and the sun and sky is bad ass!

I almost expect to see Thor and IM fly in any second because they're coming to visit Rhodey :lol

Thanks for the camera info. :rock

These are photos with the XSi mostly using the cheap (but imo good) 50mm 1.8ƒ Canon prime lens. The only photos I have that aren't toy photos are cat photos.

That was kind of a hard shot to do because it was so low light and also needed a fast shutter speed so it was taken at ISO1600 which I will admit comes out a bit grainy on the lower end Canon SLRs like the XSi I have.

Awesome shots dude, love the last one

LOL, Mark IV thread changed to Camera thread with Cat photos :lol

Quick, someone throw up a Mark IV picture before the ____ hits the fan :lol

Hey, w/o cameras we wouldn't be able to share our collections so it's all good.

I can't take credit for those. A friend (Daniel Butcher) has that camera who is into aviation photography big time with the 20D.

As you can see his camera is great for closer work.

If you ask me, the lens is more important than the camera. The speed and quality of the body sensor is certainly important, but especially for anything you're posting at the very low resolutions needed for screen display the lens is more important. Lenses can cost way more than the camera body too. Even the 50mm Prime I have which is one of the cheapest lenses Canon makes was $100 just for the lens if you include the extension tubes I also bought to adapt that lens for macro photography it was more like $250.

The medium range to close ups (in regards to collection pics) is what i'm really interested in, like many of your Batman DX photos.

P.S. that cat is scary :lol

Thanks V :rock

I sort of have all the lenses I want. Just the kit lens which I almost never use and the 50mm 1.8ƒ Prime which is great for pretty much any toy photos and with the extension tubes takes great macro shots. I kind of want a wide angle lens of some sort but for now the fully zoomed in kit lens does well enough at that for my needs. The next thing I want to get is a macro rail as I'm sick of shuffling my tripod forward and backward to focus when taking macro shots.

no joke jye, you will get hooked! 1 week with my 40d and i cant stop taking pictures of everything.....makes me feel like im a pro...ahahhaha even though im not.

But yeah, lenses do make the difference as well! not cheap, but its pretty bad a$$ with the end result!

Here's a teaser shot i took this morning. right after i took this, it started to rain!!! :slap so for now, here's the only thing i can show for today!

Much thanks to Jeff (Geil) for helping me out with this figure!!!

And what i can say for this figure so far??? AMAZAZING!!!! Wish i could it take it outside for some decent shots....

I'll probably take a ton of pics when I get mine, but I have it on order from Sideshow so that's not going to be until sometime next year.

I got mine and he puts Mk III (1st version) to shame. I can't stop admiring the finish. It's making me consider VI now...

What the hell is the one then that's the same price range as the Canon XSi/T1i/whateverthehellthey'recallingthatmodelthisyear. I can't keep the Canon and Nikon naming conventions straight. I have the XSi.

There are so many models out there that I think you can be forgiven. It's hard enough for me to keep 'em straight. Are you talking about the Nikon D3000?
