I think its just promo art they are using to announce the license that Sideshow and Hot Toys has.

I can't imagine that that figure isn't getting made though, What's weird is I never thought the first HT Iron Man 3 figure announced would be a pass for me. I'm not super interested in the non super-hero version of figures. I know if I get it it might be at the expense of something that has a bit more eye candy appeal. Plus, I'm limiting myself to no more than four figures from this movie. So far my sights are set on the Mark 47, The Mandarin, some incarnation of War Machine and Rescue if that actually happens.

That doesn't look like a light up base to me

Well, in the teaser photo the lights in the center look kinda dull, but there should be lights there. But i've been wrong once or twice before ;) I just can't see hot toys not having the light up function.

Honestly i think this looks really cool, but what i am most interested in is the workbench with blubrints, magazines, and parts and the updated dummy with actual wheels on the base(looks awesome) I really want those items to go with my gantry workshop scene below my hall of armor. The center base from im3 is cool, i just prefer the gantry and dont have room for both, and i like the look of tony, but i like the black sabbeth shirt look better. If this is priced right i will definately pick it up and part out the center base. Very cool hot toys, i luv accessories for my figures for diorama scenes, just dont **** us on the price.

Is it just me or does it look like in the trailer the Hall of Armor displays appear to have a curve to them.
Do the HT allow you to simulate this curve or are they straight across?

Alrighty. Hot Toys posted some new pics on their facebook page.

We do have a light up base here. But what happened to the man's face? I'm not sure I'm convinced by the headsculpt... :/
Gotta look at it a bit more later today, but I don't feel like they nailed it...

It looks vaguely like RDJ but it's a far cry from the mechtest Tony's hs.

Ehh... Looks brilliant, but I'm not too convinced by the HS either. :gah:
It does look better from different angles, though.

Really mixed feelings on this so far. The base is stylish, but simple - not a lot of engineering there to justify a huge price. I have the Gantry with Dummy, Mech test Tony with Dummy, so "Dummy on wheels" is kinda anticlimactic. I LOOOOVE the cart full of armor, blueprints, the magazine - that is a treasure trove of goodness. I would love Tony as well, body looks great, good costume, the swap out armor adds a lot of appeal - but the head is supremely "meh". I wished I felt thrilled about the whole release, but I'm sure it will cost a small fortune; the Hall of Armor is already out of the question on the principle of the cost alone, so I won't be creating that whole diorama in the pics. Hmmm...maybe I'll see if this thing gets parted out....
