well, there is something that looks off on Abe. I'm not sure if it's the angle of the pics, but it almost looks like his body is not proportioned right.

Abe is definitely not as awe inspiring as Hellboy. Damn them twistie ties. When are we going to be rid of them?

Right out of the box Abe looks good. The suit has that neoprene look to it. His arms have a rubber sleeve up to the armpits, so the articulation is quite good. The neck is a soft rubber sleeve also, which sits under the suit to hold it on. Looks like his body is a black TT. A shame really, because it would have been ace to have displayed him topless. That idea is shot.

You pull off his head, undo the well scaled zip, slip off his neck, zip him back up, and his soft rubber breathing apparatus just sits over his shoulders. Slip the hard plastic floaty over the top and pop his head back on. The floaty is secured at the back with two small wire elbows that you poke into the holes provided. The goggles are held on magnetically. It's easy pulling off his head and neck to put on his breathing apparatus, but reversing the procedure isn't as easy due to his suit fitting so tightly. The zip opens up the back but trying to peel the suit away from his shoulder to reposition his neck is a little troublesome. His only accessory is his black pistol, that I couldn't get to fit in its holster, due to his holster and its safety clip being one piece hard plastic and the clip is in the way. At this early stage I wasn't going to force it in. The pistol fits into his pistol grip hand really well. The pistol isn't very detailed, but it doesn't look oversized, which is what some people have mentioned concerning Hot Toys weapons.

His boots aren't very detailed either, and the hard plastic restricts articulation completely, but it does mean he stands by himself no problem. I couldn't see how to undo his belt, which, with his pouches, are made of a pleather.

All in all Hot Toys could have done more with this figure, given him a rubber body and perhaps some swap over finned feet.

A mucle body would have been nice, but wouldn't it severely limit articulation when inside the suit? The suit looks like it's fairly restrictive, given how snug it appears to fit on Abe.

He does seem light on accessories.

Surprisingly the suit doesn't restrict the articulation at all. It's quite flexible. I just noticed he has zips down the outer side of his trouser legs. The one on his back goes down to the waist but its closed off from undoing entirely, and the ones on his legs are closed off at the top. I'm not game to pull the trouser legs out of his boots. It'd be a job to get them back in.

Yeah a muscle body would have made the overall figure too fat. I was thinking more like his arms, a thin sleeve of sorts, just to give it a sculpted muscular appearance.

It's pretty much the same between Hot Toys Hellboy and Abe as it was between Sideshows Hellboy and Abe. Abe just doesn't hit the mark like Hellboy does. On its own its still a pretty impressive figure. He's blue, which is cool, and he's n alien of sorts.

I managed to fit the breathing apparatus over his rubber neck. No need to remove!

Also, Safety clip on the Holster isn't one piece, it opens on the side nearest his body! No need to force it!

Thanks Gothikus. Hadn't revisited him since I got him. I would have still been scratching my head wondering why they gave him a gun without a working holster. Glad you sorted this out for me and anybody else that would've been in the same boat. Weird design on that holster, if you ask me. I still found it a little awkward prising out the peg from the hole. I would have been much more nervous hadn't you told me. Cheers

Just noticed, Edward looks like his on the new slimmer/narrow shouldered body compared to Abe and Jack.
