I believe people are not saying that Rocky is dull as a character but only dull as a DX release and I can see why. With the pricing HT are charging for a DX these days, Rocky does seem to be a little sparse on what they could offer.

More sparse than MJ

For the record, I have always felt that MJ Bad was a little sparse compared to The Joker and Batman but MJ Bad does benefit from a complex costume design and the PERS on him is actually the best example by HT so far. I imagine thriller would have been much improved if it has the PERS too.
