Hey guys,

I was just wondering what you guys thought of Billy sole and if he is worth it for a good price? I know because of the head sculpt people have mixed opinions.

What's a good price? I would say if you don't need it pass on it. the money can go to filling your POs and buying something better.

definitely not even worth retail. without the likeness, it's just another generic military toy. unless you can find it for under $90, i'd just skip it.

Yeah, it'll need a repaint to bring Sonny Landham out of that sculpt. Once you do that, the figure actually looks great based on some pics I've seen.

I'll go against the grain and say yes. If you want a nice Predator (film) collection, he's a must. Even moreso if you're looking to build out Team Testosterone. I picked him up at full retail from Sideshow when he was first released and haven't once regretted it. Though, he's sitting at home, headless ATM.. :lol

Additionally, he has all the makings of an RPD Leon, so if you're looking to find him, sooner than later would be best.

Get it ! And try to get SilentSurfer to hook you up with a repaint. SS is an amazing painter and the likeness is there. Totally worth it !

If your a Predator fan that wants the best Billy figure thats out there now even with the bad paint job then yes... The paint can be fixed anyway...

With Billy I really wish that since they couldn't get the likeness they would have made damn sure everything else was dead-on. Unfortunately they didn't provide the camo-shirt he wears at the beginning of the film. He also could have done with gloveless hands, I think he wore a wristband which the figure doesn't have...and also the jacket he does have is the wrong shade of green. It was much brighter in the film. So the figure, even without the likeness, should have been more than it is IMO.

He's accurate. I'm guessing they went with a post guerrilla camp assault look for him hence the cut on his cheek and lack of accessories (Billy ditched all that stuff after the engagement). No doubt he is a bare bones release, but he only retailed for $130 and the muscle body alone fetches up to $75 on ebay.

Wasn't he gloveless post camp assault? If so then the figure isn't strictly accurate to any one part of the film. I know you can easily get gloveless hands off any true-type so thats not a big complaint. But my point remains, can't get the likeness rights? At least make sure everything else is right (like the colour of the jacket) to minimise possible reasons for people to pass on the figure.

I bought him, I don't regret it, but those other minor quibbles on top of the generic face were disappointing.

Why wouldn't the actor give the rights to his likeness?
And also, if they couldn't get them, why not just make another character?

The color of the flack vest is fine. Even better if you take it out in the sunlight. But Landham is a son-of-a-_____ and would likely try to sue if they got the figure any closer to him. I'm happy with what we got.

Outside of Arnold, Jesse would want more than HT could offer and as we already know from Rocky, Weathers declined. That leaves Duke, Black, the guy who played Poncho and Landham. My guess is they already had Billy far along in the prototype phase thinking Landham would agree no problem (they should'a googled him :lol). There's no sense in doing a Mac if you can't do a Blain, so he's out. And I'm guessing they didn't have enough faith in Hawkins or Poncho being big sellers. Can't say I blame them given how hard of a sell Billy was initially.

Try to get him for a good low price (I think the lowest on feeBay is $110-$120 shipped) and get it repainted. Otherwise, pass. Or, like Nam said, if you'd like to build all of the characters, then he is necessary. Of course, you could wait and see if HT makes the others later ;).
