well bale is good actor yes, but not great.
Great for instance was Robert De Niro in Heat, that was greatness.

As an actor myself, I don't think it's necessarily a mark of one's talent to simply be able to kiss someone, gay or straight. If that makes talent, then the "gay for pay" porno performers must be the greatest actors alive!!

I do think Bale is an excellent actor, and deserves a lot of credit for what he has achieved. I find him compelling and subtle. I do NOT like his Batman voice at all, but that's one hiccup in an otherwise very impressive career.

Having said that, acting quality is often a very subjective thing. One man's Bobby DeNiro is another man's Joe Pesci. And there are plenty of people who don't like either of those guys, so I wouldn't take too much umbrage that someone doesn't like one actor or another.

Ignorant man. I hope you're just joking. If you are, never mind.

What made Heath's performance in "Brokeback Mountain" so great wasn't because he had to perform homosexual acts, but because of how he conveyed the struggle of his accepting his homosexuality, how difficult it was for him to accept it and acknowledge it. That was another brilliant performance of his. He conveyed all of that amazingly without having a lot of dialog to work with. Anyone who can't see how incredible that is doesn't know good acting.

Thanks. It's a dangerous business calling someone homophobic. People tend to be a lot crasser than they intend on here sometimes. I wish our educational system still taught people how to write to really convey themselves well.

Watch The Fighter. Bale is fantastic in it. Like mentioned...being able to make out with another dude isn't necessarily the mark of a good actor or his dedication. For me, it's completely forgetting the fact that I'm watching somebody pretend to be somebody else...this certainly happened for me watching The Fighter. He was awesome.
