I don't know if talking about sabotaging our own figures is wise lads. You'll have Hot Toys White Knights like that twat on facebook accusing everyone of deliberately causing the dome cracks, genuine cases of deterioration could end up getting dismissed.

That dude on facebook is hilarious. I swear he's full of crap.

ANECODTAL EVIDENCE! ANECODTAL EVIDENCE!

Agreed... Let's keep it real, yo. Homey... yeah...

Yeah, to be honest I'm just having a laugh w/it. Really I would not want to chance my CC issuer flagging me as someone that deliberately broke something to take advantage of the coverage they're offering.

I am debating returning it, though. Kinda torn but if we see another example or two of the joint covers rotting, that will probably decide it.

Well I am also having cracks on the dome but the cracks on the legs are worse!! Is there anything I can do with this? Should I contact Sideshow and get a replacement or return it? I bought it directly from them. I'm very upset with this. Mine has been on a shelf no sunlight exposure or extreme temperatures this is bad.

HOLY CRAP I never thought to check the other rubber components. Here is one shot of one leg....and one arm. A new dome isn't going to help this and the rubber isn't stretched. It's just plain cheap crappy rubber. I have barley moved it (and yes he's out of the sun in Air Conditioning.

Oh, man, that's brutal. I guess I'll have to see about returning it, now. I was willing to work around the dome, but the joint covers are a deal breaker. This figure will likely look like hell within a few months of display. What a shame as it is such an iconic piece. :(

I'm returning mine for sure now. I don't care if mine don't have any issues. Its going back to SS!

Right... well that settles it for me. Arrivederci ED-209. Luckily I only paid $360 for this figure and will likely recover most of it.

And now a pict of the other arm. I am BARLEY touching this, not stretching or pulling. It's clearly just cheap cheap rubber (and no it's not in the sun....or too hot...)

Ugh, my distributor does not take returns (unopened only with a 15% re-stock fee). FAQ advises I would need to deal w/HT direct and we all know how easy that is.

The speed with which this deterioration is occurring, leads me to suspect it may be a combination of cheap rubber parts and a reaction to the glues used to secure those parts in place.
:(

Is your distributor in Canada and did you buy it with a credit card less than 90 days ago?
