Don't say I didn't warn you
Don't search it out.
Don't say I didn't warn you
I have this movie. Its interesting, but it becomes too boring and repetitive. If was shorter it would be a lot more watchable.
The first 5 minutes really set the tone for the rest of the movie.
I always avoided the FODeath videos on the racks but now that I know they were fake I might go back and take a look, as far as Cannibal Holocaust, it is a bit of Italian nastiness but enjoyable, and Eli Roth could film a trip to the zoo and I'd prolly watch it a couple of times
Faces of Death for the most part are fake, but they do contain actual autopsy footage and stuff. Just letting you know.
Thanks for the heads up, I'm studying for my EMT cert. right now so I could handle the surgeries/autopsy stuff it's just seeing that poor monkey get his brains scooped out which bothered my poor teenage psyche back in the day! Most of the stuff on those tapes is pretty much seen everyday on the reality video clip shows and the medical programs so it seems to have lost some of it's edginess-still glad it was mostly fake though.
I've been wanting to see that too! I heard it was "the goriest movie of all time" gotta check it out.
It is definitely not the goriest movie of all time but it has some pretty gory scenes. I think the worst scenes are the animal killings because they are real. Definitely worth to check out, let me know what you think.
A lot of great horror films are already mentioned here so here's one I didn't see in the previous posts: Ravenous
Starring Robert Carlyle and Guy Pearce. I think it's a great horror/thriller/western combination. The film has also cool and sometimes unusual music.
I have seen Cannibal Holocaust some time ago, and that's just a very cruel movie. All of the animals are just butchered and that's totally unnecessary. It's horrific to see, but apart from that there isn't really any horror in that movie.
Cannibal Holocaust I don't find entertaining in any way. A good premiss ruined by over the top rape scenes and animals actually being butchered on screen for shock purposes. No thank you.
To me, that was the whole point of the movie. Its more shock and back in the day when that was made it was probably a lot more shocking than it is now. I will be curious to see what they do with the remake.
That may be the point, but it doesn't make it entertaining. Not for me, at least. I know the rape and other violence wasn't real, but the animal killing were. No real excuse for that. And I'm not a big fan of horror porn (or whatever they call it)... No matter what year it was made.
Hopefully the remake will be done right. I've always thought the story was a good one in a Blair Witch type of way.

Didn't Dead Alive break a record for blood on set?
