damn, man! Last House on the Left and I Spit On Your Grave are friggin' brutal movies!! My friend at work suggested I saw I Spit On Your Grave. And I didn't want to at first but I'm a horror junkie and so I had to see if it lived up to the hype of being disturbing. And it was! It didn't scare me but it was hard to watch:horror brutal.

Heh heh definitely. Another one to check out is Cannibal Holocaust. It isn't too bad but the real animal killings is what is really gross.

Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead. The remakes of the first two weren't bad but still nothing like the originals.

That said, AMC compiled a really good list with their Top 100 Horror Movies of all Time. I'm still in the process of getting all of them (have like two or three obscurities left).

For those of you who don't know, this was the highly elusive "Dr. Butcher" film everyone talked about, but nobody owned back in the day. It was just renamed (like most of the Italian movies) when brought over here. I think I stole my VHS copy from a local video store that was one of a handful in California who actually had the Faces of Death films.

Thanks to everyone for your initial suggestions. I have opened a netflix account and have all of these in que:

Inside
I Spit On Your Grave
Videodrome
The Brood
The Girl Next Door
Black Sabbath
The Haunting (original)
Black Christmas (original)
Session 9
Cat People (original)
Cannibal Holocaust

I was very pleasantly surprised to find that netflix has so much available. Maybe my head will explode with all the horror I have on the way. This is going to be fun!

:D

Rock n Roll man, put Frontier(s) on there. I am pretty sure netflix has it.

You should PM your email address you used for netflix, I can friend you and you can check out my queue I have A LOT of horror films on there, a lot of obscure ones.

I would suggest Twitch of the Death Nerve, H.G. Lewis' 2000 Maniacs, and Hitchcock's Psycho, also check out Mad Ron's Prevues from Hell, this is one awesome collection of horror trailers from the very bad to the so bad they're good types, this one's prolly only on vhs but worth the search. Oh yeah and no collection is complete w/o Fulci's Zombie

Yeah, I personally don't care anything about "horror porn" like Cannibal Holocaust, Faces of Death, or the Hostels. I need something a little more interesting, with a bit more substance.

I always avoided the FODeath videos on the racks but now that I know they were fake I might go back and take a look, as far as Cannibal Holocaust, it is a bit of Italian nastiness but enjoyable, and Eli Roth could film a trip to the zoo and I'd prolly watch it a couple of times

You mean "Torture Porn." While I agree that Cannibal Holocause aka Dr. Butcher is probably one of the first to qualify for that kind of labeling due in part to a few of the cannibalizing sequences, Faces of Death I & II were more documentaries on the many different ways to die then anything theatrical. There was substance, a bit of philosophy and on some level, education. Of course, the trashy sequels after II that show sex changes, middle eastern executions, physical mutilation, etc., with death metal the only soundtrack in place of dialogue, can be flushed with all the other turds.

Nah, I meant "horror porn." I always thought there is probably a fetish market for "torture porn," and wouldn't want to offend its fans by suggesting that they enjoyed Hostel. Of course, there could also be people that get aroused from guys dressing up like Freddy and gang-banging midgets with Chucky masks, but I like to think that there isn't.
Check out Begotten.
Now THAT, is a F'd up movie (is it a movie?)

My all time top 5 horrors:
1)Halloween ('78)
2)American Psycho
3)The Shining
4)Dawn of the Dead ('78)
5)Evil Dead

My favorite, lesser known titles:
1)Dust Devil - horror mixed with an old western style. Deals with posession/magic, but very good! The dvd is packed too, 2 verisons of the film and 3 discs of bonus documentaries and even the cd sountrack!
2)Slither - Love this one, my fav. horror in the past decade (besides American Psycho). A great homage to the sci-fi/horror invasion flicks from the 80's. There's plenty of references to past horror films as well, so they're fun to look for.
3)Magic ('78) - Chucky is scary, sure, but check out the dummy from this movie, now he's terrifying! An early Anthony Hopkins role as well.
