Episode #1: “Winter Is Coming” Debut: SUNDAY, APRIL 17 - A Night’s Watch deserter is tracked down outside of Winterfell, prompting swift justice by Lord Eddard “Ned” Stark and raising concerns about the dangers in the lawless lands north of the Wall. Returning home, Ned learns from his wife Catelyn that his mentor, Jon Arryn, has died in the Westeros capital of King’s Landing, and that King Robert is on his way north to offer Ned Arryn’s position as the King’s Hand. Episode #2: “The Kingsroad” Debut: SUNDAY, APRIL 24 - Bran’s fate remains in doubt. Jon Snow heads north to join the brotherhood of the Night’s Watch. Tyrion decides to forego the trip south with his family, instead joining Jon in the entourage heading to the Wall. Episode #3: “Lord Snow” Debut: SUNDAY, MAY 1 - Arriving at King’s Landing after his long journey, Ned (Sean Bean) is shocked to learn of the Crown’s profligacy from his new advisors. At Castle Black, Jon Snow (Kit Harington) impresses Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) at the expense of greener recruits. Suspicious that the Lannisters had a hand in Bran’s fall, Catelyn (Michelle Fairey) covertly follows her husband to King’s Landing, where she is intercepted by Petyr Baelish (Aidan Gillen), aka “Littlefinger,” a shrewd longtime ally and brothel owner. Cersei (Lena Headey) and Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) ponder the implications of Bran’s (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) recovery; Arya (Maisie Williams) studies swordsmanship. Jon takes measures to protect Samwell (John Bradley) from further abuse at Castle Black; a frustrated Viserys clashes with Daenerys in Vaes Dothrak; Sansa (Sophie Turner) imagines her future as a queen, while Arya envisions a far different future. Episode #5: “The Wolf and the Lion” Debut: SUNDAY, MAY 15 - Incensed over news of Daenerys’ alliance with the Dothrakis, Robert orders a preemptive strike on the Targaryens that drives a wedge in his relationship with Ned. A captive Tyrion helps Catelyn, but receives a cold reception at the Eyrie from her sister, John Arryn’s widow Lysa (Kate Dickie). Episode #6: “A Golden Crown” Debut: SUNDAY, MAY 22 - Reinstated as the Hand, Ned sits for the King while Robert is on a hunt, and issues a decree that could have long-term consequences throughout the Seven Kingdoms. At the Eyrie, Tyrion confesses to his “crimes,” and demands that Lysa give him a trial by combat. Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) apologizes to Sansa; Viserys receives his final payment for Daenerys from Drogo (Jason Mamoa). Written by Jane Espenson and David Benioff & D.B. Weiss; directed by Daniel Minahan.

Episode #7: “You Win or You Die” Debut: SUNDAY, MAY 29 - Explaining that the future of the Lannisters is at stake, Tywin (Charles Dance) presses Jaime to “be the man you were meant to be” as they prepare for battle. Ned confronts Cersei about the secrets that killed Jon Arryn. With the fate of the missing Benjen (Joseph Mawle) very much on his mind, Jon Snow takes his Night’s Watch vows, though not with the assignment he coveted. After Ser Jorah (Iain Glenn) saves Daenerys from treachery, an enraged Drogo vows to lead the Dothraki where they’ve never gone before. The second episode was awesome but

I'm still annoyed with how Drogo/Dany's relationship is shown in the series. Drogo just comes over as a brute barbarian

The parts with Joffrey, Arya and Sansa were awesome. Just wanted to slap that little punk. I can't wait to see Joffrey get some payback for what he did.

BTW What happened to Ghost, Jon's direwolf? I haven't seen him anymore.

They don't shy away from incest in the books, least from what I remember

I've only read the first book and it was so long ago, I only really remember the main parts but so far this show is really living up to the hype. The production values are great, the acting is great and other than a few small changes from the actual book, it's closely following the storyline.

I'm enjoying Camelot but honestly this show is better in almost every aspect, if they could have given Eva Green a part then I'd be hard pressed to watch Camelot live.

Another decent episode. The only thing I hate so far is every character so far is a cliche.

I just realized that Drogo is going to be the new Conan this summer, which makes me much less worried about the movie. Not completely unworried, but I like this actor so far for what he is - a barbarian.

I like how they are handling Drogo and Daenerys relationship. Had Drogo come into it too loving, it would have felt weird - he's a barbarian, where did he learn this touchy feely crap? Instead, it will be Daenerys that brings about his subtle change - he'll become softer from her, she'll become harder from him, and as a pair they'll be better than either was alone.

And the girl playing Arya and the boy playing Joffrey MUST be in Hunger Games. They'd be absolutely perfect casting as participants, and I suspect they are going to both be great characters on this show.

Thought that guy looked familiar. At least he is a big guy.

As for Hunger Games, I'm still curious how they are going to pull off a movie where kids are killing kids in brutal ways. . .

I know nothing about the books, but caught both episodes over the weekend and absolutely love it!

Sean Bean is perfectly cast and the girl that plays Daenerys is gorgeous!

No comments on last night's episode? It was great! I finally had some time to get rolling on the first book, but I'm not caught up to the show yet. Still, the book is adding a lot of valuable background that really adds to your enjoyment of the show - I highly recommend reading it if you have time.

Does the daenerys plot line improve dramatically? I find it quite the weak link in this otherwise stellar show. Very boring tbh.

Every time we switch away from a ned stark or Jon snow story arc to the grassy savanna its a real downer.

They should show more of the Tom boy kid and less of that blonde queen because the stark kids vs lannister kid storyline is more interesting than the barbarian queen storylinie.

It does get better in the books, but it is one of the slower moving plots.

I'm enjoying the show more and more with each episode. It wasn't until this week's that I found myself taking real interest in the characters. And there are a lot of them.

I thought the sword lesson scene with Arya was very well done; Sean Bean's reactions were great.

I just bought the book box set off eBay, btw. I'm looking forward to reading them after the first season is over.

The Books are great. You will enjoy them a lot more than the TV show. Just don't read them too quickly though. 2 more books are scheduled to be written by Martin and if the previous two books are any indication, it might take good 10+ years for the series to finish up.
