Saw it last night, didn't really like it. I think the first Guardians is much better than this one. The first was one of the most refreshing theater experiences I had in a while and a solid movie to end the summer season back in 2014 or whatever. Should have stopped there. I don't know if I was tired or what (I was driving for almost 6 hours straight before we went out), but it just did nothing for me. The jokes felt flat, the pacing was awful (I knew I was in for some **** when the opening with Baby Groot dancing while they fought just carried on and on and on) and that ****ing ending where they're trying to kill Ego with all this crap flying around just annoyed the hell out of me. I couldn't even really get into the soundtrack like I did with the first one.

I liked the Yondu and Rocket scenes, but not much else. I got to a certain point where I was just sick of the damn thing. All the callbacks to previous jokes, Drax talking about dicks and constantly insulting the telepathic girl, the way the characters were just flying and getting around like physics didn't apply to them (Gamora's and her sister should have been crushed to death when that long cylinder rock flies up into the ground) and those gold people was just obnoxious to me.

I wanted to go as soon as the credits rolled, but I got the whole "hurr durr, we gotta stay for da after credits BS". I don't know who Adam is and Stan Lee has nothing to do with Guardians of the Galaxy. The teenage Groot was pretty good I guess, but I could have just seen it on youtube or something.
Agreed on everything.
It's really a disappointment, the trailers looked good for the most part.

You can understand my review now.

It was plenty entertaining IMO. A bit thin on script story, but I didn't find that shocking. Enjoyed a little development with Yondu and Nebula. Guess I just want to be entertained instead of picking every nit I can look for. I do think the first one was better, but Vol 2 was enjoyable.

Karen Gillian, Zoe Saldana, The Hoff and Guillermo Rodriguez are easy to spot
Pom Klementieff is hot as a blonde
I'm pretty sure Michael Rooker is playing keyboard and rocking a soul patch.
Dave Batista is the guitar player. Easy one.
Chris Pratt is under the helmet with a pornstashe
An overrated hack who owes everything to Jack Kirby also appears.

I can pick out everyone from the cast except Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel. I'm pretty sure Kurt Russell isn't in there, bummer.
